Yesterday: a nearly normal Lantus cycle + evening bounce https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...1-8-5-127-10-304-pmps-352-3-368-4-368.239673/

Wow, cleared that bounce fast. I'll check him at +2 to see what he's up to.

Question for folks who have used methyl B12/Zobaline: how long did you keep your cat on it? I started a month ago when I started seeing signs of neuropathy (back leg weakness/muscle twitches). Haven't seen any neuro symptoms for a while and his BG has been lower overall lately, so I'm wondering how long I should continue. Right now I'm planning to keep going until I use up the bottle (about another month) and then maybe see what happens if I stop. Is that reasonable or should he stay on it for longer?

I have Butters on it and never took her off it, even when she was tightly regulated and her neuropathy symptoms finally alleviated. It wouldn't hurt to keep him on it for another month. I'm not sure of the benefit to keeping him on it longer than that but I'm interested to learn if there is one, so I'll be following your condo. I only still give it to Butters because she went out of regulation.
have a good day!:)

Surf safely, Oberon :cat: FWIW, I still have Jax on Zobaline...he only had mild neruopathy (a little stumbling and zig zagging) - he's a ton better but did give up jumping to my bathroom counter and hasn't tried again since dx. I think Tootsie's was on it for at least six months...and then some people keep their cat on it. I'm curious what others say but I'm sure you could take him off it and see what happens. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do any harm to keep him on it either.

I did not see any ill effects from stopping zobaline with Nova. She had very mild symptoms of neuropathy (wobbly and not jumping to her cat tree), and recovered quickly. From what i remember posted here, their body sheds what they don't need, so long term use would not pose a problem, except in the pocketbook. Hope I remembered that correctly!

Surf safe today, Oberon!

Thanks, everyone! His symptoms have been very mild and he's still doing things like jumping on the kitchen counter. I'll keep it up for now and then maybe decide based on what his BG is like in a month.

106 at +2, so I'm back to hourly checks until I see where he settles. Heading for another reduction this soon?

Nova was at her lowest jump from food this morning that she has had since...it seems like forever.....She might be teasing the sharkies while I'm at work this morning. Silly cat! She wants me home, I guess.

Oberon's SS is certainly looking a lot better these days! Yes, even with a few high numbers sprinkled in...overall, he's looking better! I'm sure that's helping the neuropathy as well.

Great job Lisa!

Nice surf today, and now he's coming up slowly. I don't trust him, though... this is cycle 5 since the last big dip, so he's nearly due for one if he sticks to his current pattern. I'll get a bedtime +4 check, though, and DH can check at +8, so we should be in good shape unless he surprises me at the +4 check, in which case I'll stay up.
