Yesterday was.... yellow and blue day in MannieLand. It was a flat, more or less, day... nice until the +2 last night. UGH! AH Mannie.... he kept er minding me that yellow + blue = green, and no worries... Wouldn't it be great if it were that simple. :-D We are half way through the Clavamox. YAY! last night was a good appy day, yesterday morning, not so much. AMPS was great, and it went downhill from there. I was so glad to see him approve of dinner. what a relief. We still have not seen any side effect from the heart meds, so some relief there too. This morning Mannie will go in for BP re-check with his regular vet. After that I will Eb switching all his cardio care to his cardiologist exclusively. Ir just seems it make more sense and my vet agrees. Here's hoping that today's vetty visit, though a very short one, won't upset him too much.... Lubs ya big guy, You be home before you know you left..... cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Weather has been iffy yet again: wet and very windy, and getting colder. BRRRRR! Mannie spent a few moments outside on the deck today. I think he misses his back yard, and his patrols. Maybe we will get some sun-breaks over the weekend while I am home so that he can go out when it isn't so windy... Paws crossed! I am sure he remembers the last time in the winds when he was blown sideways... not good for the Nanner King! :lol: :lol: Mannie and Nicholas shared breffis together yesterday. It is the new routine for them. Nicholas was so into his blueberries, Mannie so into his turkey ad giblets, that nether, one again, offered to share.... ;-) Once all was said and done, nicholas reached over to hug Mannie, Mannie let him. That was cute.. best buds! This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club , purrs and lots of cuddles. Normalcy in MannieLand. :cool:

Have a great day everyone. It will be catch up day for me: bills, shopping (especially kitty fuds...) and at last: the Christmas tree will go up. Bound and determined to get that done this weekend, for sure! I hope too that the weather will allow for a walk/hike here locally. Paws crossed!!!

Hey everybody!! What a slumber party a maui's!! We is off - the the IHOP with Maui and her bean. WOO HOO! What fun we had!! I thinks we need to take a road trip with maui today. Maybe go the the beach or sutinn'. Maybe take Maui up to Rusty's so she can camp out too on the radiators! and grill with us. SO wakes up everybody! We gots an IHOP to get too! ~~Mannie

And completely OT: Here are some photos from DGS's and my adventures yesterday: Swimming. We spent lot of time there, and he was so tired afterwards that he napped for a longtime. We just ran out of time for anything else.We did however, squeeze in a trip to Dairy Queen: sundaes!! I've included the FaceBook links for anyone that wants to see all the photos, and the videos. Morning Michelle and you will need some of Mannie's coffee today for DGS recovery day and catchup and Christmas tree decorating. :-D Very nice blue AMPS today for Mannie. Glad he is halfway thru the ab and the heart meds agree. I think it makes sense to be under the care of the Cardiologisy for all his cardio care. Will you still keep the regular vet for routine check-ups or transfer over completely? I hope there is a break in today's weather for some yard patrol for Mannie. Cute pics of DGS, and that sundae is sure making me want to have one today. We don't have any Dairy Queens here that are close to me.
Mannie, thank you for my coffee delivery. It will be my main staple today. :lol: Yes, I think I could use some of that Sleepy Time Tea to get me to sleep if I have another night like last. Love ua Mannie, Auntie Ann

Mannie, good idea to take Maui to Rusty's porch and have snuggles by the radiator. Maui sure showed us a great time yesterday in NYC. Hey, we will have sun this afternoon and close to 70, so we can fit in a beach walk, too, and cookout. See ya soon, Mags

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) And that I will - I have asked my resident barista to make mine extra good, maybe add some of that 10 hour stuff he has... :lol: :lol: I will still keep Mannie's regular vet, and just handle the cardio stuff with the cardiologist. They both seem to communicate well, and send the results back and forth so both are on the same page. I just never got around to switching today's appt, should have, but time got away from me, once again. :roll: I really hope that his BP is down some. Me too on the weather for him 0- he so wants to be able to go out... ;-) THX on the pics. DQ is just up the street, so it was convenient, and is kid friendly. I'd prefer better ice cream, but Nicholas was content with this. it was fun!

Back from the vet for Mannie's BP check. YAY! The meds are working. He tested at 180 initially (better than the 210/220 he was) and then settled into 150 after a few minutes. So.... we will continue on the current dose of amlodipine, and recheck in a month.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) Yupp, the day will be busy - holiday tings to do, plus catch up from all those days with DGS where little else gets done. It's ok though - all is cool. :-D :cool: BP check went well. She said he was funny - tested high and once he realized they weren't going to poke or prod or stick him with needle he relaxed. Silly kitty.... vetty anxiety for sure.

It's sooo good to hear Mannie had a good checkup!! I'm so glad. Now all he has to do is get done with the Clav and feel 100%!

BP is still a new mystery for me.
I finally got a bp check for J.D. and the vets said it was good, but they were all about 170, and the people here (I think) told me that it wasn't good.

Morning Dyana ~O) ~O) ~O) I know on the BP thing. My vet tells me that normal is 100-120. Then they factor into that vet stress, so 160/170/180 is viewed as acceptable when at a vetty office. normally that would be awful... I really wish I could test it at homer so we would know what is actual BP is under normal conditions.

364 @ +9. ohmygod_smile sheshhh - where did that come from.... I did give him some greek yogurt, plain a few hours ago to help with the stomach due to the clavamox. i wonder... there is some sugar, but I didn't think that much. well darn it!

Ouch on that +9, but Mannie is doing so well Michelle. Wonderful on his BP coming down. Too bad there's no kitty cat home monitor.
Only one week to go on the Clav.....yay.

Hey Mannie, Auntie Barb understands on the BP being higher at the doc's office...mine too. I bet it's lots lower at home. :-D

HI Hillary - so agreed! The BP was so good to see. Things are starting to get better in that arena. Could not believe his +9 today - out of nowhere unless it is delayed vetty stress.... who knows.

Maui - we had such fun with you. I loved the IHOP, and so wanna go back. uhhhhh.... just don't tell anyone bout the syrup stuff though OK? I know on the bunnies!! Hi Ella, no worries on the lateness of the visit... I have yet to visit so many people. I got busy with the vet, my son's cat and the vet. poor kitty has a eye ulcer.Then had to shop, got the tree up and lights on... and then it was late afternoon. so need to visit people. I am glad that he is responding to the BP meds, and that we see to have a good dose from the get go. That is a relief. YAY! Back in a month to check again.

Hi Amy - Me too on the BP check! that was a relief. He was on the BG's, but just shot up again. aiyee.... no doubt food, but still... no relief yet from the pinks tonight.

Michelle, that's great news that Mannie's BP is down. I wonder if the vet would let you borrow the monitor for an afternoon so you could check it at home? Or could a tech come to the house? No idea if either of those options are viable, but may be worth asking about. Even just doing it one time would really help you tell if the dose was right on his meds.

Hi Anne - I had meant to ask about that when we were there - if a vet tech could come and check him while at home. I have no clue why I forgot, it just didn't even enter my head. :shock: :roll: :roll: :roll: I so agree with what you said about knowing then how on target we really are with the dose. Right now we are guessing that he follows a pre-determined patten. I will have to call them or even his cardiologist.

Hi Helen - yupp! am sure that is what the +2 is: food spike. He does them often enough. :roll: And I so agree - blues would be more than nice!

Hi Deborah - me too on the meds. Good news! now to get those BG's down too. THX on the pics. He is such fun. :-D
