Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! I Love coffee!), and Happy Sunday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Lola and Bug are very busy resting.... They say Sunday is sleep in day... I dunno - I really think they are gearing up for holiday parties. Yupp! That's it! well ok then!OH! heya re working on Christmas tree pizzas! HUH? so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. For my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....... SWEET!, and perfect for a fall day. OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts standard with every delivery!

I hope everyone had a great Caturday. Mine was good, rather laid back, just a relaxing Caturday, trying to stay warm in what is, for us very cold weather... we topped out at 27, lows were down to 16 at night, Just darn cold. The days have been sunny though, and when out, it really is gorgeous out there. I went to the shore, camera in hand, to take some ice and frost photos. Got the laundry done, and the shopping too! AND! I put up the Christmas tree.... under the expert tutelage of Lola. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o oh wow on it all..... it will remain unlighted and undecorated until she settles some. And I see if it will remain sanding...   I took the night off, vegged out on my sofa, just to recover from Lola, and keep a vigil on my tree. Lola has a new motto: "Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches...." Here's what I wrote last night about the day: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. We are still frozen here. Top temp today was 27, 16 expected tonight. no snow though, so far..... WOO HOO! A heat wave!! We are due to stay cold for a few more days, then warm upon, back to the rains for us. It amazes me that with all this cold we have not had any snow... Paws crossed that it stays that way. ;-) I went to the shore at Meadowdale today, and THAT WAS COLD (!!!) when the winds picked up. I stayed warm though so all was good. I had a good time. I missed most of the morning frost, but no matter. The ice formations were fun, and ever so pretty. The mouth of the creek was all frozen over, and really very pretty. Glad I went, spent about 3 hours there, got maybe 5.5 miles in. Maybe tomorrow morning on the frost. We shall see on going tomorrow early to catch the morning frost. .... If it isn't too cold to venture on down there. Even I have my limits....  Yesterday afternoon I put up the tree. sheshhhhh.... :o :o :o OMG, "that cat" will be the death of me.   She's already climbed it over a dozen times... now it sits crooked. HAHA. Well got that fix, sort of, weighted it down with a some free weights I have, see it that will keep it upright. Lola may win this war. An adventure with all of this for sure.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties were GOOD kitties yesterday, well, except for Lola. I remember writing last week about how there is this element of "what will greet me at the door" when I get home from these walks.... Smiling kitties? a living room still standing? or mayhem and total destruction?  Well, perhaps I do Lola a disservice... no. not really.  But yesterday she did greet me at the door, with several meows, and then some legs rubs. What a sweet girl.... oh sure... then the tree went up.   Little miss sweetness turned into this crazy kitty.... She sure does enjoy all that she does. As Amy has so aptly put it: such a zest for life. She loved every bit of that tree going up: from the arrival of the box, to the parts strewn across the floor, to the tree itself. That must have looked like the best thing ever to her. She was all over it, for over an hour. Exhaustion finally won out, and she went to sleep on her favorite rocker. ;-) Elsa and Bug paid it no heed whatsoever... Elsa never really has cared that it was there one way or another. I had no clue what I would get with Bug. I hope that he will be my Christmas kitty, like Mannie was. They are so much alike that maybe... I have this loop rug/tree skirt that I made years ago, that Mannie loved. The minute that thing went under the tree he was on it. It became his spot. We always said that it was officially Christmas when Mannie took up residence under the tree, We had to leave a spot for him, once the presents went out, so he could remain there. I will put it out sometime today. And we shall see.... YUPP, I think I can safely say Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. Puts some lights on the Christmas tree, if Lola won't destroy those.  An out and about for sure, but I think it will be local... to the shore if it isn't too cold out there.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Good Morning Michelle,

That last video was priceless. Was Lola actually up in the middle of the Christmas tree?   I could not stop laughing, so, so funny.

Terri

Morning Terri ~O) ~O) ~O) hey, thx! and yes, she went up the middle of the tree, then climbed on all the branches. up and down she went....

I just knew with that subject title what today was going to be.
I haven't even thought about the tree yet.... and Shadow loves to get under it too. Our other cat (GA) was the one who climbed it as a kitten.

Guess I should think about when....

Enjoy your day.

Hi Michelle,
Well, Lola is Lola, so did you expect that she would just sit in front of the tree and admire it?? GREAT videos!! You may have to buy a new tree for next year!!

Wow on your cold weather. Here that would be considered a typical December day, even a bit on the warm side. But in your neck of the woods it is COLD (all that ocean, making it a wet, humid cold). Bundle up when you go for a hike today!

I hope Lola will make amends with the tree and be good once the novelty wears off.

Have a great day today,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. to Elsa: the coffee yesterday on the mountain tasted so good. And this morning it is my favorite Ethiopian espresso. Thank you, Kitteh Barista!

I think Lola thinks that's a super spiffy cat tree
Just wait until you hang toys all over it ;-)

Morning Michelle,

Meadowdale photos were just beautiful :-D Made me miss the ice and crunch from my NJ winters. And a big OH MY! on Elsa and the tree! You are in for a very interesting Christmas :o ;-) I think I would not put up any fragile ornaments this year :-D

Have a wonderful Sunday!

   Oh Lola...Off to the "Christmas Capades"
Maybe you should just decorate the tree with all her toys and call it a day
Thanks for the georgeous pics! Loved them...but made me shiver
Enjoy your day Michelle and good luck ;-)

Gotta say my favorite part is when the tree branch got flung out of the tree. I had to rewind it to make sure I was seeing it right! Love Dyana's description
Dyana said:

Yes do bundle up if you're going out. No need for a Christmas flu bug :-D

 on Lola and the Christmas Tree. You can tell she thinks it there just for her to climb on and play in. I don't know if you'll be able to keep any ornaments on it this year. I think they'll all get knocked off.

I love the frost pictures. They are so beautiful

    Lola lives up to expectations! That tree may need to be a permanent part of your decor! Maybe you could get a second one to decorate! That one is Lola's. We always had to use a couple of fishline guy wires when Cleo was little, she was a lot like Lola!

Stay warm!

Hello?? Edmonds Fire Department?? There's a kitty up a tree at Michelle's house!!

That's just priceless!! You sure can see Lola is having a blast!

My very first cat climbed our trees for years...My dad ended up having to rig something up so there was something at the top of the tree (I think it was thick fishing line) that he'd secure up under the ceiling somehow...been a long time since I had thought of that. At least it kept the tree from coming down every night. As he finally outgrew the tree climbing, he always loved laying under the tree. It was his special place each year.

Beautiful pictures Michelle!!

Morning everyone! WOO HOO! We are up the 24 degrees, and the sun is trying to make an appearance. I decided to hold off on my outdoor adventure, as it was 18, cloudy and just too cold... so soon, once the sun is out. It gets dang cold in those woods..... This morning so far, Lola has made 5 trips up the tree, dislodged three branches, and I have repaired, make shift, the tree stand. AND (!!) the tree is still standing. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :? I am afraid though that we will need to replace this tree after this year. We have had it forever, and the stand is just falling apart. It works OK as long as it doesn't have a tree climber...

I put out the Tree skirt a few moments ago. That was so Mannie's thing, he loved that tree skirt. It seems so odd not to have him sleeping there the minute I laid it out. So, here's to you big guy, as we embark on another holiday season. I hope you have found that perfect tree skirt up there at the Bridge.

Morning Rhiannon ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes, fun times here. I hope she will settle for sleeping under it, not in it.

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) This is TRUE~ I knew what I would get. She was so hyper yesterday, as if she knew... and sure enough, didn't take her long. She was up the tree before I even got it all put together.  You are probably right on the new tree. This one is, even without Lola, beginning to show its age. I too hope she makes amends with it all, settles in,and starts to leave it alone. Oh sure....  I think of you when we hit the teens, and know too that it is so typical for you. Right you are on the wet and humid part. That just adds to the cold. Will do when I head on out!
Auntie Ella! You are so welcomes!! I knew you would need lots on the mountain. It has to be so cold there. You need more for today? ~~ Elsa. Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Morning Dyana ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yeah.... i dread adding the cat toys. Even as much as I dread adding the lights, which I am sure she will see as that red dot thing... this will be so interesting. and your are right: it is a spiffy cat tree, and she has claimed it.

Morning Jane ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the meadowdale pics. it was so pretty, yet so cold down there. I loved the section of the creek that froze over when the tides came it, and went out. And yupp! I did crunch alot down there. On yes on Lola and the tree. I doubt it will get ornaments, and if it does, all non breakable! Next step - seeing what she does with lights....

Morning Pam ~O) ~O) ~O) YUPP! The Christmas-Capades are in full force. hey! Good idea! I like that. She has claimed the tree, we might as well put her toys in it. maybe then she won't climb in and out and all over the branches as much.  THX too on the pics. and yes - very cold down there. Maybe 25, not too sure what it was once the winds picked up. BBBBRRRRRRRRRR!

Morning Kim ~O) ~O) ~O) oh haha, and yes when the branch fell out. I am surprised I didn't utter an "oh S*** " when she did that. I've had to put branches back in several times.  GO LOLA! I like Dyana's idea too - it is Lola's spiffy cat tree. Will do on the bundle up!

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes on that: she does think it is for her to climb in and play on. OMG. I laughed so hard when she laid down on the middle of it, across the branches. Way too funny.... I agree on the pornements. I'd tie them on, but she'll just chew them up if she can't take them with her, or bat them around. THX on the pics. it was very pretty down there.

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes, that she did. I knew what I'd get, and sure enough she delivered, right from the moment I opened the box. Love the second one to decorate. Maybe huh! She can demolish this one, and I'll have my own. Hmmmm.... Would she? I think maybe so on the wires, or something similar. I've thought of anchoring it from the ceiling too, but that would require a hole in my ceiling etc.... Will do on the warm.

Hi Chris ~O) ~O) ~O) oh HAHA! That is too funny! I can so see the scene. And yes, she was having the best time. It was fun too watch, and she really hasn't caused all that much damage. ;-) I am seriously thinking of doing something like your dad did. I know them that it won't fall down at night. I can see that being that kitties special place each year. Mannie wasn't a tree climber, but the tree was his, he settled in there very Christmas. THX on the pics!

I get the sense that you are egging her on, Michelle, or maybe that's Mannie? :-D :-D   Lola is a beautiful cat, wow, what a tail!
Liz

Voice of experience here, not to the cieling, she can just turn the tree into a spinning top! ohmygod_smile One line to each corner of the window and do it AFTER you put on the lights! That year was a real pain!

WOOT! The lights are up/on, and so far, so good. She did climb 4 more times as I was stringing the lights, but left them alone. YAY!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D The tree seems a bit more steady since I weighted down the base. Time will tell on that one. ;-) Now to try and put lines to the window corners.

Hi Liz. WHO ME??? NEVER!    I have tested her just to see what reaction I would get. SO far no interest in the lights, the tree is still up for grabs.  but... could be Mannie! I would venture to guess he loves her mischievousness.  THX - I thinks he is too, and has the best tail! long, big and fluffy!

Hi Ann - ok, and THX! I will take that voice of experience any day! I so do not need a spinning top. and she would too! It would move, and What fun would charge through her mind.     Gotcha on the lights: logical, and will do on that one. Got the lights on, now to see what to do to anchor to a window. ;-) LOL: i can so see your working around those anchor lines... what a bummer!
