I'm desperate to find something and so far, have come up blank so thought I'd start a 'Loose Lips' today. I didn't put my need in the title thinking maybe some of YOU need things too... :-D

Today I need:
To desperately know how much Ball brand fruit pectin to equal 1 pouch of Surejell! I'm making jelly for Christmas gifts using an old old recipe from Surejell...BUT....I couldn't get Surejell, could only get Ball. The recipe says "1 pouch of Surejell". I can't figure out how much that is....HELP! Anyone know or have recipe using frozen grape juice that HAS amt of pectin?

:-D

I FINALLY solved mine - in case anyone else needs it, Ball pectin 6 tablespoons equals 1 box of other pectins. ..but discovered that I bought 'Instant Pectin'. Didn't know they made such....

I think instant pectin is what you use for freezer jam, right? Not the kind that you cook. I'm not sure if you can use it in regular jelly recipes. BTW that's really cool you are making homemade Christmas gifts - and that you are canning! It's kind of a lost art. I keep a pretty big veg garden, and I have canned pickles and tomato sauce in the past. I made peach butter for the first time this summer... so yummy. Good luck with your pectin dilemma!

I need to find reasonably priced freeze-dried chicken or salmon treats that are not made in China. Nothing against the country of China, just paranoid about pet products made there since there have been some issues in the last few years. I posted about it in our condo but am mentioning it here since it fits with the theme today

I desperately need to find MY MARBLES!!!!!

LOST A VERY LONG TIME AGO...NO IDEA WHERE TO LOOK

Melissa, we buy Prime Taste Treats: Freeze dried dog treats at Petsmart, and cut them up into kitty sized treats. They are made in the good old USA and ingredients are: freeze dried chicken. A 6.2 oz bag is about $13.

Also check out http://www.kingwholesale.com/Shopping/itemlist.cfm?id=5994 I'm not sure where they are made though.

Celi, I think yours are probably whereever mine went!

Purebites are made in the USA.

My little conniseur of freeze dried chicken treats has decided that Purebites are simply the best....we have tried Halo (yummy, but too expensive for me to buy), Prime Taste Treats....really yummy until she tried Pure Bites, then Prime Taste Treats were no longer good enough! ;-)

FYI I just got some stella and chewies freeze dried tuna and wow its like lil pieces of tuna bricks says easy to break yeah right not for someone with bad arthritis in the hands I had to get scissors to make them smaller and

Hey Celi when you find yours pick mine up as well I am sure I lost mine years ago

the problem i'm having with my marbles is when i get new marbles, the old marbles fall out the other side.

we are having the most stellar day ever in western oregon! it is crisp, sunny and not too cold - maybe low 40's. i got out to take a walk on my afternoon work break - the leaves are very scuffable!

celi, i've been wondering about a job update on you! no condo and i never heard how the 4 interviews went!

Yes the instant is for freezer jelly but I want to seal it in hot bath so it will keep longer. My family is all doing handmade/homemade this year and $1 stores for children under 18. This will probably be the last year we'll have a huge family christmas at my parent's house - their health is terrible but they wanted this one last year. When we're all together, there's about 70 of us....noise and bedlam and love...

Try a hammer. That's what I use to smash up garlic for cooking

Real Food Toppers brand of freeze dried treats (made in US) is really easy to break up into smaller pieces. Kind of expensive, though, but each bag contains large chunks of meat. One bag lasted Squishy a few months.

WildSide Salmon treats are also made in the US.

You can also soak the treat in warm water to rehydrate. Squishy loved eating mushy rehydrated treat and the yummy tasting water

Binks is despondent over the fact that i failed to recognize his "Wun Monf Offa Jooce"...so I promised him a condo tomorrow.
At the moment, he is actively & obviously shunning me...no matter where I find myself in the house...
there he sits with his back EMPHATICALLY turned

I need to find...
-someone to adopt me, and "gift" me money to help me get back on me feet (especially now that I was offered a rent to own deal on a nice 3/2 house with 2 car garage - fully furnished with a backyard)

-a Sugar Daddy

-or I guess I can just settle for finding a job, but I'm starting to think I might have better luck trying to find the first two things

WildSide is not made in the US, it is processed in China, as clearly stated on the package. "Caught in Alaska and shipped to be freeze-dried and packaged in China."

I bought some last year, saw that and left them sit. :-x Same w/ the Beefeaters freeze dried shrimp.

I recently saw this line Bravo and thought I might try the freeze dried Turkey hearts.

   Jordan...too funny.

i've reached the age where i'll likely have to settle for a "Sugar-Grandaddy"

 had a bit of a hectic day...and he just wouldn't settle for a "quick report condo"...
so we'll post one tomorrow...

Ummmm...don't tell him though, okay? he thinks this whole evening while i've been 'Fapping on the 'pooter"...
it's been ALL about him
