Happy Sunday and Happy Birthday to our GA Sitka who would have been 29 today and who lived to be 21. She was an awesome kitty! Sending healing vines to all who need them today.
What a lovely morning I had with Gracie and Tobey. It's cold here so I lit the fireplace in the master bedroom, got coffee, and climbed back under the covers with the two of them to read. They were both purring up a storm and I think Gracie kneaded every square inch of sherpa blanket with that amazing look of concentration on her face as if to say better not miss ANY!!!. I got quite the look of disapproval from both when I got up and told them it was time to get the day going.
Gracie had a fairly flat blue bounce yesterday and I mentioned to her last night, casually of course, that I best see some   today or we might need to tweak things and so she did not disappoint.
Thank you all so much for visiting yesterday....Rhiannon, Liz, Rachel, Carla, Dale, Deborah, Mariko, Kim, Ann, Rise', Ella, and John. Your posts made me smile. Freezer is under control (thanks, John, for the tip and I will make sure it is not replaced with after market piece) and ice maker turned off. Insulin appears to have not been affected (for now). Plumbers won't be back until the shower is finished and they need to put the trim and faucets on. The tile guys come back tomorrow to finish tearing out the shower floor so it will be noisy again tomorrow and then they start laying tile. Yes, Ann, Mike agrees with you on the remodeling ;-) ;-) ;-)
I worked long into the night on the video because I am such a perfectionist. I completed it this morning after letting my sisters see an advance copy and make suggestions. The hardest part has been the effect it has had on me. I was fine getting all the pictures scanned, edited, etc. But when I put the music to it (Carrie Anderson's "See You Again"), it was like a dam burst. I cried so much yesterday that I had a headache and today hasn't been much drier. I would like to think positively about it and say it has been cathartic; I was very, very close to my dad and I know I've buried the grief deep in my heart so this has really helped me. And the video came out beautiful....I am so happy with it.
All I have left to do is put it on dvds for everyone. I know my mom will love it but it will hit her like it did me, I am sure.
I hope all of you affected by the horrible storm will stay safe and warm. Mike is flying from NYC to Baltimore to Chicago to Salt Lake City today and I know it's going to be a long day for him flying through all that weather.
