Good Saturday morning! I slept in a bit this morning (oops!) so Dusty got her shot about 30 minutes late. :oops: All went smoothly, though, so I'll just make sure to dose her this evening within a 15 minute window and use this as a reminder to always, always set my alarm clock.

I'm having friends over tonight. LOTS of cleaning to do before then. But I'm making a pistachio-crusted halibut with some cous cous for dinner. Yum! Never made the halibut this way before, but it's gotten rave reviews on the website I'm taking it from. We'll see! I'll also have to dose Dusty while folks are still over and, since she's a scaredy cat when it comes to strangers, I think that will involve enticing her to come out from under the bed. Which means she's going to get her favorite - chicken - as a treat. (I'd let her try some halibut, but I don't want her to start developing expensive tastes. ;-) )

OK. In to clean that kitchen. Have a good morning, all!

Oh can I ever relate to late morning shots! I am so NOT a morning person! :lol:

Thanks, Jill! I rarely make fish, so I'm a bit worried. But I figure that's what takeout is for. :-D

Ugh. A big rise by +5? Perhaps I only *thought* I actually injected Dusty with the insulin? :sad:

I could be a fur shot. Could Dusty have found some contraband while you were prepping for your dinner guests?

I doubt she got into something, mostly because she doesn't like dry food nearly as much as wet food and so will always go for the wet if it's available. And it was. She did get half a pill pocket with her allergy meds, but that wouldn't explain why today is different from previous days. Perhaps it was a fur shot. Oof. Hopefully one of these days I'll figure out how to reliably inject her. :?

I'd like to throw another possibility out there...
you could be seeing a high before a break. sometimes it happens and we don't know why.
time will tell.

Dusty did just come in DEMANDING food (loudly), so perhaps she's dropping a bit late....

I just did a test and it looks like she IS dropping a bit. Hurrah! So perhaps we didn't have a fur shot after all? (I tested about 10 minutes after she ate, which may have affected this number?)

Thanks for throwing out that possibility - I wouldn't have thought to check again had you not mentioned it.
