Post is on Community, but I'm having trouble linking from my phone.

Basically, doesn't seem to matter what I do since his chronic pancreatitis diagnosis, he remains on an unregulated roller coaster. Weight is dropping now, so more Bloodwork is being done to see if there may be other issues contributing to him being so hard to regulate, or just get in a mildly happy spot without such crazy highs and lows. Need to do fluids daily now, instead of only during obvious flare up (anyone know an inxpensive place to get fluids and needles?)

I'm sorry to hear that Willow is having such a hard time. Have you discussed an appetite stimulant w/ your vet. Many here use cyproheptadine to good effect.

Here's your link but I think you should have it in Health. Community is just for chatty not cat health stuff and is not that active.

Marje had a great post on giving fluids, I'll try to find it. I think she says she gets Ringers by the case at Walgreens and the lines and needles from Thriving Pets. BTW Walgreens has a $20 annual membership card and is the cheapest place around here for insulin as well, even w/ the cost of that membership.

Thanks Ann. I originally tried to post on lantus board but got error messages on my phone on all but community, so I settled for there. I'll get on the computer later and post on health.
Thanks for the link to Marje's fluid condo. I'll check it out. Willow is on cypro as needed. He has mostly eaten well until the last few weeks, when it's required treats and coaxing.

I hope Willow's bloodwork comes back okay.
Please let us know what the results are when they come back. We might be able to help you with suggestions.

Can you add some numbers to your spreadsheet, so we can see what his numbers and dose have been?

Dyana, numbers have been everywhere. He's only on s.25u right now. Anything above and he drops under 40 and with the last several drops, its been a struggle to get him back up. I also don't have anyone to check him during the day or give shots when I'm late coming home anymore, so thats not helping the situation. I'll try to add some numbers. Won't be back home for awhile though.

Jordan --

I hope you're doing OK.

One thought is to feed a higher carb food and adjust the insulin dose as you need to. It may be that Willow's numbers will flatten out a bit more if you feed higher carbs.

I was wondering about feeding higher carb more regularly, especially since on his off days he will still eat a bit of HC even if he refuses everything else. He's 15 now so I think some days its just about keeping him comfy and happy.

We have all paws at our house crossed for Willow. We have never been able to get our cat Zener on LC fuds, just transitioning him from kibble to canned food was a challenge. So we settled for medium carb, and he has been on that for two years, and we also have to use cypro regularly. Worrying about whether our kitties will eat or not can be much more stressful than BGs. Sending vines your way.

I'm so sorry Willow is not doing so well. On the video, I mention the supplies but also in the description of the video (on youtube) I list my suppliers. Please let me know if I can help you.

Sending many healing vines.

hi jordan! nice to see you! sorry to hear Willow's feeling icky, though. are you giving him a painkiller (Bupe) as well? if he's got pancreatitis a painkiller is important too.

i ordered fluids through a locally owned pharmacy here - i want to say they were around $2-3 per bag and i bought a case of 12 at a time. i also got the tubing through Thriving pets - they were super helpful. I got the kind with a port in it so i could put punkin's vit B12 in it. that's another thing that helps with pancreatitis.

sending lots of hugs your way. it's hard having them not feel good. :YMHUG:
