Well we have movement
Her dental was pretty uneventful. No problems, we didn't even do antibiotics afterward. We've done urine check, full senior blood panel both when we checked before starting insulin and pre-dental and no signs of infection.
There is a whole pile of issues that could have brought her back. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and liver disease (?) that lead them to believe possible triatitis and she caught calicivirus all in the last 14 months. No symptoms on the pancreatitis or triatitis other than weight loss, we just caught crazy lipase numbers on wellness check bloodwork that told us we needed to go looking for a problem. Add in the stress of her playmate of over 12 years dying of cancer a year ago Sept, 2 new kittens and most recently Tiger - her nemisis adopted. Tiger started as a foster who the shelter insisted on having on SD Lite. Smokey got into it a couple of times (she was quite persistant at it), her numbers came down afterwards so she was still working a month before we caught the diabetes. Then my meter battery went dead and through a series of mishaps, it took me a month to get it working again and boom - not coming down.
I was hoping it was the dental and we'd start to see something clearing up. Or it was the SD Lite and once that was gone for good and a round of insulin would get things working again. Tiger sure does miss his kitty crack and Smokey still goes running into his room hoping I've missed picking up a bowl of it.
