Good Morning LL! I haven't posted this week, but thought Kibby could use the power of LL today. He got his drain out Monday, and the wound cleaned out again. Dr stapled the top cut closed and left the bottom one open in case anything else needed to drain. Kibby's been taking his 2 AB's like a champ, and has definitely been feeling better. Wednesday night he was going a little nuts trying to get someone to let him outside. Thursday he went for a check up, and the area looked a little bit swollen to me. Dr tried to do a needle aspiration, but only got out a tiny bit of fluid. As he poked and prodded, he felt like there was sort of an empty pouch inside. He thinks there's some necrotic tissue that's keeping things from healing up correctly. So today he's going to open it up to get that out, and he feels he may have to put some stitches inside. He half expected to have to end up doing this, as the abscess was so deep, so I'm not really looking at it as another setback, just the next step to get my baby boy all healed up. He's really been thru the wringer these last couple of months, poor guy, and he's been such a trooper.
His fever has not returned at all, and his pcv is up to 27%. Still has a way to go, but at least it's steadily coming up (1% every 3-4 days). Please send more healing vines for my sweet baby, I am praying this is the last thing he has to go thru.
