There are too many blues!

Nothing seems unusual. He eats well. poops well since yesterday. he's awake more. He has a little more teary eyes again (used to have all the time before FD) and his breath sounds a bit wheezy. I haven't let him out to the freezing balcony for a few days.

Lately i changed his feeding times. I'd give him breakfast but whatever he didn't finish I'd give at +1 and +2 or all at +1.5.

This morning I fed as I used to do before: BF whatever he finishes and the rest after test at +3.

Should I up to 0.10U to give him more support ? Or shall I wait a bit longer? We're starting day 7 on drop dose.

@Bandit's Mom

Good morning, Shelly. I’m sorry things are a little unsettling right now for Fistuk. Just remember he’s truly doing amazing.
And maybe what Alli said is correct. He just needs a little more time.
Just remember patience. And you’re both doing wonderfully!! You’re on top of everything so it may just be a little more time.

Let’s see what answers the more advanced team provides.
Sending you support for your detective work!
Big hugs to you and Fistuk, and Prince :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Aw Shelly, don't be discouraged. Maybe he is fighting a little cold and his BG is up. Maybe he needs a little longer on 0.1U. I say do what your gut tells you. If that's go back to 0.1U for a week to see some more green, do it! Whatever you feel gives Fistuk the best success. You're doing great and so is he! :bighug:
Thanks, Alli. i appreciate your support. It does feel like upping the dose would give him a boost to have more greens and stabilise :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly
You are doing great! But I see that there are few more blues, although he does come down to the green zone.
Any new meds?
I have seen people going back and forth a few times at the very little dose to reinforce - see what Bhooma says. I'll also tag
@Wendy&Neko
@tiffmaxee
@Angela & Cleo
Hi Kit.
He does get green and has full cycles of green but now less often.
He doesn't take any medications and I haven't changed anything in his food, besides the feeding times a bit.
Thanks for the vote of confidence

Hi Staci :)
I agree he's doing really well but I think he's seeing too many blues to ignore. Maybe he'll respond to an increase threat :woot:

At the moment the detective feels a bit lost. i think you know something about it ;) I'll keep observing and see what I come up with.
Big hugs from all of us :bighug::bighug::bighug:

The note in your SS about his cough and breathing would have me concerned too. I would make an appointment to see the Vet to get that looked at. Any infection/inflammation can effect BGs and you want to get those addressed right away.
As far as the dose, he has been trending higher so I would take him back up to 0.1.
Thanks, Angela.
I'm not really keen on going to vets. This issue has been persistent for years now. They never had any answers to that. Only giving antibiotics which actually doesn't help and I'm not willing to give him any unless it's really crucial.

I was quite surprised that the teary eyes went away with FD. Somehow it started coming back bit by bit. I checked the analytics on the food label but nothing has changed. I noticed that Prince's breath, Fistuk's brother, also worsened lately. So I wonder if it has something to do with the winter, the heating.... All those things I can do nothing about :(

I'm leaning towards the increase. In spite of the greens he has too many blues and I think he needs to be more green stable to move towards OTJ, right?!

Hi Shelly and Fistuk

Don't get discouraged with a few blues in the mix. I also think you're making the right decision by bringing him back up to 0.1.
I also agree that he might be fighting a cold or some sort of infection and perhaps that's why his numbers were creeping up.

All in all you're both doing such wonderful job.

He's doing great and going back to a higher dose temporarily does not mean you failed, far from it! If you look at other cats, it's more often the case, going back up, then down, then up again. I see that as adapting to their needs, sometimes it makes us happy because we can go down, sometimes they tell us they need more time.
About his breathing: you mentionned a few days ago that it was dry in your apartment, do you have a humidifier? That might help, or even just putting bowls of water on radiators. Like for congested babies :)

This makes TOTAL sense to me. I've had similar experiences with Vets who over prescribe antibiotics :rolleyes:.
My concern though is the note in your SS where you said "as if his lungs are filled with fluid." That to me would require a Vet visit to at least rule it out.

Thanks, Karolina. This sneaky cat is how I feel looking at the situation at hand :woot: there's a healthy dose of mischievousness. I feel it's for the best and don't feel discouraged.

I asked last night to receive guidance in the dream and O got the message to raise it up to 0.1U :bighug:

Thanks for the encouragement, Cecile. I feel as well that going up is not a failure, not that I didn't have to get through the feeling first. But it feel right.
It's a good idea. I was thinking of giving him colloidal silver sauna. It helped in the past. I'll try again :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I didn't know how to describe the sound so that's what I wrote but I don't see a reason he'll have water in his lungs. I'll give in another day to see how it evolves.
In the meantime, he was toasting by the radiator all day today and they've managed to finally fix the floor heating in the bedroom so he had the double whammy of heating :woot::bighug:

Decided earlier that if he stays green I'll give him a chance to prove himself and if blue I'll give him0.1U.
So he got a drop

Not until so far ago I wouldn't have been able to wait till the last minute as filling the syringe got me so stressed. the things we learn :woot:

Fistuk toasted himself by the radiator with the floor heating pickingup so his eyes are much dryer and not rasping breath.

No baked goods yet. It normally takes him a couple of days after mycrolax to get back to his own rhythm.

Oh, he is TOO CUTE ... I want to snuggle his pretty white fur!:kiss::cat::bighug:
Very glad that he's in his cozy spot and that being there helps his little nose and eyes.
I hope he gets the bakery going and shows you more greens soon.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Fistuk is a very snuggly cat. He welcomes you ask you add some belly rubs. Then it'll be purrrrfect :bighug::bighug::bighug:
