Yesterday's condo

Well it's been a long night, and then, right after AMPS, the power went out, so until we get back on again, testing is by candlelight (at least until the sun comes out a little more)

Days like this remind me of why I love my kitties so much...they make excellent blankets! It's frigid outside, but so far anyway, 3 cats and a couple of blankets are keeping me more or less comfortable, but it sure is hard to do much of a condo on a smartphone!

At least I don't have to worry about mom...the hospital has backup power and those wonderful blanket warmers...but their blanket warmers don't purrrrrr

I hope China surfs safely for you today and you get your power back on soon. Testing by candlelight is no fun. The first time Furball had a low green, our power was out. I had to test by candlelight/flashlight. Now I have a headlamp I use to help me see Furball's dark ear. It really comes in handy when the power is out.

It sure was challenging to pull her dose this morning by candlelight! After being up all night with China, my eyes weren't focusing real good in the first place, so I kept second guessing myself for quite some time. I eventually just had to say "it is what it is" and go with it.

I done my best and that's all I could do :mrgreen:

I may look into a headlamp of some kind, but my budget doesn't have much wiggle room, especially in December. Hopefully it's not going to be a frequent condition! We'll just have to see what Old Man Winter has in store for us this year. Unfortunately, I live at the far edge of our power companies territory and we're also a small, rural town so when there's a big ice storm that takes a lot of the power lines down, we're the last to get service. They spend all their time working on the homes nearby (which also just happen to have the biggest, most expensive homes...funny how that works

She's got one heck of a nice surf going on there! Blecht about the power. We get that here too...for days :roll: Love the head lamp idea. That would sure beat trying to hold one of those little flashlights I your mouth..which I am now glad I never suggested :lol: Stay warm and enjoy your purry heat blankets today!

Been there, done that :lol: :lol:

Well our 24 hour surf between 49 and 76 is over...I figured she'd bounce at some point...would be nice if she didn't go any higher, but we'll just have to see.

Finally got electricity back so the house is starting to warm up again, but I never got too uncomfortable with 60+ pounds of cat radiating heat..we had a symbiotic relationship..they kept me warm, I helped keep them warm (plus I fed them, pet them, scritched them, and generally loved them...one of my favorite jobs)

Thanks for the link to the headlamp Carla! Next time I go to Wally World, I'll see what I can find!
