I'm still panicky and fatigued. The bug ate all her grub overnight! First time in ages. :cat: She's snoozing at the moment (ondansetron makes her a little sleepy for a while after administration). Thank you for asking after her.

I hope you start to overcome Mogs. Yay bug for eating! Is it harming her stats at all? She's so precious.

You did me a big favour by asking this question. There's been a slight upward drift in the Noodle's BP readings over the last few days but I hadn't made any connection to the diet change. I just checked her BP log and yes, the upward drift correlates with the diet modification. Thank you for helping me to spot the link, Patty. :)

BTW, her BP is still within the target range (<160 systolic). (((Noodle)))

Please be extra careful while you're out and about, Patty. The unwashed masses over here have got a major dose of the Christmas crazies and are being very covid-careless.

Hi Patty,

Just a thought: did Blue Pearl advise you to fast Blue overnight ready for any blood tests they might want to do? If they haven't said anything to you, it might be an idea to give them a quick call to check if he needs to be fasted.

They did not. I also wondered about his insulin dose.

I wear a mask and keep my distance. I do not want that virus!!!

My brother fed the HC instead of the MC food I had out but Blue's down to 80.
I feed in another hour and will test again then.

What's the temp where you are? Sounds cold. We're having a cold day for us but it's still in the high 40s which is balmy for people living up north.

Waiting on Blue Pearl to call me back about the fasting, dose, not letting him go to the litter box 3 hours before. OMG and I have an appt. for my knee in the morning.

They mentioned 1/2 dose in the morning but if he doesn't eat should I do that?
What is 1/2 dose a drop?

It's about 2 degrees Celsius (c. 36 Fahrenheit) at the moment and foggy. Feels like freezing fog.

If it was me I'd be inclined to skip in the morning: he's on a tiny dose already and even with that he needs little snacks when the dose is at peak effect to keep him in the normal range. I'm tagging @tiffmaxee to ask what she thinks.

That sounds way to cold for me. It's rather grey here today and that makes me feel cold.

I kind of agree with you on skipping. He has to fast from 12 tonight until his appt. at 12:30, yikes!
I did mention I sometimes have to give me a little food past 12 in order to keep his BG stable and
they said that was okay.

Glad you heard back from Blue Pearl.

For blood tests, my vets always advise to fast from midnight and they always book the appointment for 8:45 in the morning. By the time they get to do the blood draw I'd say it's probably around 9:30.

I reckon the Noodle must be the Anti-Blue: she's a complete cow at the vets. :rolleyes:

On a serious note, she can get extremely aggressive. There have been a few occasions when I've actually been really afraid of her. She's also a bit of a biter. Sometimes when I'm trying to get into the bathroom or when I'm trying to get down the stairs she will bite my legs. She manages to puncture my skin through my jeans and I end up with spectacular bruises. :arghh:

OMG that's crazy. Poor Mogs. I have one like that. My Teddy. He wants petted and then he attacks.
Cats! Have you tried some calming products? I just started using "Bully Solution" by that cat guy...
Galaxy. Seems to help and it's all natural.
 
I just took this of Blue. It's kind of dark. He's been playing and snuggling with me today. He seems to feel good. His midsection is quite large but it's not bothering him. I'm nervous for tomorrow but anxious to find out what's going on.

Thank you both. I'm a wreck but trying to stay positive. I agree, if it's something that can be fixed I'll be happy. My fear is...well you know.

I know, but I'm going to keep him in the powder room with water and litter box in the morning. I have to run to find out about the MRI on my knee, so I won't be hearing him meowing to get out. When I get back I'll let him out because the food will be gone. He's not going to be happy.
 
Oh yeah, I only have one that does that but then everyone gets going.
Do you feed twice a day? Wet only? Just curious since you said you were watching their weight so closely.

He's at 124 +3 so I think I'll give him a little LC

Almost. I'm still getting dressed. I didn't know how anymore...kept looking at my closet. I haven't dressed for cold weather in so long. It's 30 degrees out there!
