Shhh....tip toe quietly all the kitties are still sleeping. Look at them ...all piled up together. They look so innocent when they are asleep.... I think they had a good time last night!

Yesterday's Condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=31454

Two P's accounted for already. I think the cold winter weather has these indoor kitties curled up to snooze.

I was able to work on some of the mat this morning while Attie had his breakfast. It is slowly slicing apart. Every once in a while the rake snags and the temptation is indeed to just pull it. But, I know that hurts him. Even when it snags he lets a growl out, so I know it is uncomfortable. But in running my hand over the area I can feel it is indeed breaking down. Thanks for the advice yesterday BJM, it is almost word for word what the groomer told me too.

BJM: There are some tricks to using a dematter, which actually cuts through the mats.
Always keep your fingers between the skin and the dematter blades.
Hold the mat firmly with your fingers, so any pulling is not transferred to the skin.
Start at the outermost edge of the mat and work your way inward.
If necessary, use scissors to cut the mat into strips and work each strip separately.
Use treats to encourage the cat to allow you to work on the mat.
A seam ripper can be helpful to break up a mat too.

I guess another thing I have to learn patience over.

Last night the garage cat showed back up from last winter!!! I have not seen him since late spring!!! He looks healthy, fed etc. Just like he did last year. By the end of winter though he lost quite a bit of weight...so I don't know if he is owned or if he is a now feral dump...and he just remembered the cat ladies house is good for a handout?

Snow is still falling and I think today might be a good office day. I have three files to get setup on new clients, but still have openings for the holiday week that need to get filled. Snow shoveling is still going to be calling though as I do need to sneak out this afternoon to do a potty break. I can monitor Attie more closely today with this nice yellow number too.

Re: 12/7 Atlas Amps 237, +1 266, +2 279, + 254

Like Pat said, it may not look the same every day...probably won't! It takes time....

That's a nice slow drop so far...paws crossed.

Looks like a yellow surf for the day. It'll be interesting if it drops late in the cycle.

The water meter reader was just here. Oh my...Attie's all excited now! He's looking everywhere for where the guy went.

These yellow numbers always seem to make him excitable too.

I was thinking the same thing...flat yellow cycle usually means action is coming.

Re: 12/7 Atlas Amps 237, +2 279, +4 269, +6 320, +8 315, +10

Looks like he didn't stay up there too long...

Maybe change that +4 feeding to a +3?

He just seems to get hungry in the afternoon and he has had a history of sliding into his evening shot times.

Hmmm....

Re: 12/7 Atlas Amps 237, +2 279, +4 269, +6 320, +8 315, +10

Yes, I would feed at PS, +1, +2, +3. If he gets hungry late in the cycle, give him a small snack at +6. I usually give a half size portion for that snack.

Re: 12/7 Atlas Pmps 317

Amps 237,
+2 279,
+4 269,
+6 320,
+8 315,
+10 262

Very interesting day for numbers....not minding flatish too much...fits more into what or how I thought Lantus was supposed to work.

Laurie thanks for all your help and insights.

Been trying to work on that mat on his back today...ugh! What a fussy fuss is he?!

I may have to use a bowel of "sin" to get him to stand still long enough for me to really get some work done on it. I got some trimmed out, some brushed out, some de-matted out today, but it is pretty deep still.

Definitely better, the area is pretty oily though and he isn't going to let me mess with it too much more today.

:!:  Not a bowel of kibble sin....I'll get some Pure Bites and if he eats half the bag...ok with me!

Oh look ...even better...Nature's Variety makes a freeze dried treat medallion!!!http://www.naturesvariety.com/products/treats/Instinct/fd :thumbup

Re: 12/7 Atlas Pmps 317

Hey Binks!

This bean will let you come do Attie's hair!

I think we get it, it's just that area of the back that make them jump when you touch it.
