Linda for Weezer

All is well in Weezer World.

Prayers for all in need of healing, strength and comfort today.

Yesterday’s Condo

Recap of yesterday
AMPS 304
+2.5 319 (415 on VetTest)
PMPS 405
+6 310

Yesterday was our vetty visit to see why Weezer doesn’t seem to respond to insulin well. So now we are in waiting mode until results are in. The one thing we did learn yesterday is that the ReLion Micro also loses accuracy in the higher BG ranges. I am still getting over all those yellow results from the FSL actually being pink, now I’m trying to get my head around the fact they may be red! Poor Weezer. Thankfully she doesn’t seem to know or care what color she is wearing.

Wishing a kitty day for all, plenty of purrs, play, sunny spots and lots of love.

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

Linda, I missed the information about the relion in your condo yesterday. What happens when the numbers are higher? Does the Relion show lower or higher numbers then what it actually is at the vet? Is it very significant?

Hoping and praying for good test results for sweet Weezer.

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

hope you get some answers soon. But the most important thing is that Weezer seems to be feeling good, so keep smiling over that.
Have a great day

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

Hi Linda, I was also curious about the Relion Micro losing accuracy in the higher ranges. I use it as a back-up to my ATrak meter, and sometimes I get a surprise as the numbers are the same with the higher numbers on the ATrak. Good thoughts for you and Weezer today in getting test results.

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

Oh geez, if its not one meter its another! Its enough to make you pull your hair out. At least Weezer is consistently coming down a little with your meter.

Have a great day Linda and Weezer.

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

Good morning! The meter issues keep going. Ugh. I use the Arkay (Relion substitute from ADW) and only the Arkay. I guess I just figure that his numbers may vary from meter to meter but I am more interested in what they are doing compared to the previous day. Does that make sense? As long as Weezer is feeling good and doing well, try not to stress too much about the numbers. That's all they really are and there will be 1000's more. I know that is easier said than done though. :YMHUG:

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

We have only used the Alpha Trak. Ignorance may be bliss as we have only used another meter about 5 times to compare and values were all over the place. We are planning on switching (I think to Relion with Arkay strips from ADW) because of the cost. Hope Weezer can show you some yellow today. Have a good one!

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

I hope you get the results back from the vets soon......waiting is so hard!

I am like Melissa.....I use 1 meter (Accu-check AViva) and only one meter. To me, I want to compare how she is doing day-to-day. I like to know where she is at BG-wise, but it is only a number....looking at the whole cat is important too!

Hang in there, Linda....this sugar dance can be so frustrating, especially when we aren''t allowed to lead....just follow and try to keep up as best we can. :YMHUG:

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318

Hi Weezer lets slide on down to the blue floor today ((((hugs))) to you Linda on this ongoing meter frustration I am right there with ya.... I do compare my relion to my A trak once a day now and the relion at least IMO is pretty darn accurate at least in comparison to the A trak

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318, +6.5 256

We use the ReliOn too, after dumping the True2go for the same issues as you found with the FS meter. If I think about the discrepancies between all the meters for too long I will go crazy! ohmygod_smile

Linda, I hope your test results give you some answers, and you get the results soon! I hate waiting!

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318, +6.5 256

As for meters, the higher you go, the higher the 20% variance will be. so, if you are in the 400's on a meter and one reads 100 lower, it actually is in the 20% range as each meter can be 20% higher or lower in either direction. In those higher numbers, it is important to know you are making progress by getting numbers lower. As a human diabetic, I seldom have those high numbers so i really do not worry too much about the meter but for Morgaine, it does concern me. I am so glad to know the Alpha Trak compares well with the Relion. I am going to get one when finances permit just to have a comparison.

Hope you get some good news regarding Weezer.

Re: 12/6 Weezer AMPS 318, +6.5 256

WE WANT BLUE!! WE WANT BLUE!! hOPE YOU GIVE IT OVER HERE WEEZER--
I use the accu check aviva like Zoe & Sherry and it has always worked for me--
We are sending Hugs & Lub to you & Weezer--Hope the vetty's results are good for Weezer!

Hi guys! Nice to see you exited the pink floor Weezer. but uhhhh... you forgot to bring Mannie with you!

Hoping for good vetty results - paws crossed!

This "hold-out" has decided to stick with the FreeStyleLite. I figure that in low numbers it is better to know how low the numbers might be. When Rusty bounces, I write down the number shown on the FSL, but I have it in my head that he may be quite a bit higher. It's the low numbers that are of most concern to me. Every time I have tested the FSL with my Relion Micro, they have been very close in the low numbers (I test them on myself).

Nice to see Weezer in yellow today. Enjoy the evening,

Ella & Rusty

Very nice day for Weezer!

Don't make yourself too crazy over the meters. I felt the same way, after switching from One Touch Ultra Mini to the Relion...there was a huge difference that made me wonder if Trix had been sitting in numbers too low when on the OT, because the Relion reads notably lower. I'd actually have the lower read as a safety, and had I known that, I would have started off with the Relion instead of the OT. (The main reason I switched was because the price of strips for the OT was driving us into the poor houses!). I try to do the same thing as Melissa, though...compare the numbers amongst themselves and from day to day, rather than from meter to meter. I find it easiest/least confusing and stressful to just stick with one meter....

I hope you figure out which way you want to go, meter-wise. Have a great night!!

Amy

yeah, i think you can drive yourself insane with the meter question - probably mostly caused by that 20% variance that's allowed. i just remind myself that dosing is based upon the lowest numbers and all of the main meters are fairly close in low range. if punkin's 100 points higher in the high ranges, i don't want to know! (whoops, did i say that out loud? ) that would just depress me and it wouldn't change his dosing adjustments.

thinking about you and sending good news vibes as you wait for weezer's test results.
