He tolerates it. I hang his bag on a hook in the closet and station my mom there to monitor the level while I hold him down in his bed. Otherwise he gets up and dislodges the needle when he feels the fluids going in. I also try to pinch and hold while I pull the needle out to close the hole. Still it seems he leaks for hours afterwards.
Can you give him any of the Dr. E kibble while he gets the fluids? A little dish set in front of him? Or some pate with forti flora sprinkled on it, or some Gerber ham baby food? They usually scarf that too quickly though.

It sounds like you have a system, though, that is currently working.

And yes sometimes they just leak! So if you add in B-12 injections at some point, it probably would just be best to do a regular injection instead of adding to fluids.

I did try feeding while I attempted sub-q last fall and he just moves around, trying to get to the food. Best if I just hold and stroke him while Mom monitors the levels and tells me when is enough. Thinking if I do sub-q daily, maybe I could do 75 mls rather than 100. Quicker in and maybe less leakage. He has so much scar tissue from 7 years of insulin injections that finding a good spot to stick can also be a problem.
