12/5 Tibby PMPS 255 night curve the better option?

That’s fine. You can also do an 18 hour curve testing every 3 hours so you wouldn't be up all night. It does look like younhave missed some lows. You could set an alarm and grab a test each night varying the times between +4-7, one a night.

I just got a reading of 153. Technically that's more than 150, but not much more. I'm inclined to keep his dose the same.

What is the range I'm hoping for in the end, if he were to be in remission? I don't actually know what is normal for cats? I got worried back about a week ago when he got down to 70 overnight, but maybe I shouldn't worry so much about the low numbers.

Normal is 50-120 on a human meter.

I would increase but it’s up to you.

I agree.....if he were mine, I'd go up too. He's been on the 4U dose for 16 cycles without any sign of green.

The goal is to get him to spend as much time in normal numbers as possible. That's when the pancreas can hopefully do some healing.

Try not to get hung up on remission. While it's wonderful when it happens, the vast majority of cats never make it. The best you can do is get him as regulated as possible to take the strain off his body ....If remission happens, that's the icing on the cake

Well, interestingly, he went further down. His +10 is 93. Ugh. That's an odd time for a nadir, isn't it?

I'm okay with him not going into remission, but I just didn't quite think about what normal is, and I still panic at normal numbers because they seem so low compared to where he's been for so long. Just now, with his 93, my instinct is to get the honey, but I won't.

I also wonder if I'm catching a 93, but it might actually have been / will be below 90 at some point, and I should be reducing. His numbers have been so odd lately.

Some cats have late nadirs. Especially in bounce breaking cycles.

Yes, that is quite normal. All of us panic when faced with new low numbers. Even the cat's liver panics and hence the bounce! :)

You will drive yourself crazy wondering about that. So better not to!

+11 is 87
Am linking your latest thread here so that folks respond on that one:
