12/5 Marley Lantus AMPS 334, +2 280, +10 172, PMPS 270 +3 183, +4 127

Yeah, he will probably bounce from the green last night.

Did he dive from 244 to 83 in 2 hours last despite food at +2 and +3?

He always has food at +1, +2, +3 and +4.

Yes. It was quite a drop.

I registered that and then looked back in his chart and wondered if I should be staying up but decided that he has often been that low at that time and it hovers around there.

Now I see when I was looking and doing my thinking, I think I must have forgotten that when it was that low at that time, it hasn't usually dropped from that amount.

I guess I was super tired.

Honestly I dont think I'm built for this.

Maybe the exhaustion of the last year has just diminished my brain capacity.

But anyway - overall I always go with y instincts and he was very settled and calm (when he is heading. for a hypo he gets all pacy and nervous energy). He came up with me and slept on my bed all night til my alarm.

Had I tested through the night I would be very weak to start my week's work - which is all about me getting in enough hours to keep our roof over our heads and food in our bellies. So it is a bit of give and take in different areas.

How should I have handled it?

What do you think is going on?

+10 172......

So pretty much after feeding and injecting at +12 I have to go out to teach.

I wont be back til +3

Do you think the will be ok? I guess we dont know if hes on the way down or up right now BG wise.....

Well........mostly he doesnt bother, but also mostly I take it to him because there always seem like a good reason to.

A few times it feels totally safe to leave him to his devices, he doesnt bother for the most part at the time, but then he'll go and eat them in one a bit later.

When hes lower - he has more energy and isnt sleeping so early anyway and then he's looked for it and found it himself. And when he's high at first and goes to sleep but drops quickly he gets up, and is asking for food.

This is from what I can see.

I dont 100 percent know that that is what he'd always so.

Normally in the evening he is up and about anyway. Or he sleeps more temporarily.

Ive actually just given him half his evening first meal as he was really begging me. (We are really at +10)

Since it is only 3 hours, can you leave him in a room with the autofeeder so he can find the food and eat it?

It's okay to feed at +10. You have 2 hours till the shot so the PS will not be food influenced. It's possible he has been dipping through the cycle and might be headed lower as he clears the bounce.

It would be a prefect idea with a different cat but I just know it would feel him out. Maybe if I ineject at + 12 and a quarter then technically I would only be 15 mins late for a snack had he gone lower at +2?

I have never known him to be low and still sleeping so I think he will find his food. He finds it when he isn’t sleeping and wants it. I don’t think it’s not knowing where the food is. It’s more when he’s super sleepy and settled he can’t quite be bothered!

I know what you are saying but trapping him in places seems to bring back all his trauma

Yes, you could inject him as last as 30 mins past your normal shot time and still shoot at the same time tomorrow morning.

I understand. We would not want that!
