*175 (first test) + 10 (second test within a few minutes) = 167 (average of two)

To say I was thrown by that AMPS is an understatement...at first I was concerned that may be he took a tumble down after his +6.5 and decided to drop and this was a bounce....and then I went to his autofeeder and saw he hadn't touched his +9 snack. I am trying to be better about not being bummed when we get higher numbers and finding the positive in it, so I have learned that Skooter is one of those cats where his +9 snack makes all the difference in the world! I was curious about how successful the +9 snack was for him and was going to test the theory by not giving him a +9 at some point, and now I don't have to! I guess I need to introduce the additional food more slowly so that way he is still hungry when +9 comes around :roll: ohmygod_smile

Hopefully he does a nice slow slide today and we can get back on track here with tonight's cycle.

Question on the bupe: He hasn't meowing in the LB or anywhere else for that matter since we got home from the vet. Should I be waiting until he is doing it again to give it to him or should I give him some in case the pain is still there?

Question on increasing his fuds: Is there a better way (other than all at once lol) to increase the amount of food he gets? I am assuming he didn't touch his +9 because he was full from all the extra fuds he got during the day

Good questions. I've tried to feed Max at +7 or 8 after a pj party and he often refuses to eat so I end up picking it up so he doesn't eat it within 2 hours of amps and the same has happened during his day cycles at times. I too figured he was full. Scooter is coming down nicely and hopefully will have a nice surf today

Since he ate all his food today, I was hoping for a little lower number tonight, but I guess since he was "so high" (at least for him these days), the 138 ain't bad.

I am so bad at portion control for myself and even worse for Skooter.....but I will learn. Here is to hoping he slides down nice for his mommabean...

Interesting experiment on the +9 fuds, even if it was accidental. :lol:

It's always best to stay ahead of pain. Cats are so good at hiding pain. Before I put Neko on bupe she was just quieter, didn't purr or interact with us as much. Think of giving bupe as a trial. Try bupe and see if it makes a difference. When I tried bupe, I knew pretty quickly it was making a difference. I also tried a one week trial with gabapentin and stopped after no difference noted.

I don't know why I am nervous about giving the bupe, but I am....

If I do it tomorrow night around 8 or 9 pm I am guessing that should be good? I am starting some medications myself and still not 100% trusting myself on them, which is why I want to wait until tomorrow night.

He has not really meowed once (anti jinx to the nth degree!) since we got back from the vet. He seems to be moving around decently. I am not sure if it the "threat" that he might go back, but seems whenever I bring him to the vet for something, as soon as we get home, the behaviors stop for awhile....

I am looking forward to see if the Cosequin makes a difference.

Headache, AGAIN .....I love stress!! -- said no one ever.....so gonna sleep until +3.5 and get another test in and go from there.....

You want to pick a time to give bupe, where you can give it about 12 hours apart. It's not as time sensitive as giving insulin. So maybe a time in between meals? You are starting at a lowish dose so shouldn't be any issues. But these are cats we are dealing with. :roll:

No advice, Molly. I've used bupe but only short term.

Just lots of good wishes that Skoots 1) slides down nice for you tonight and 2) his meds help his aches.

REALLY not impressed with that +7.....

Oh the joys of not being able to sleep at night.....

I will most likely be up for awhile and will do a +7.5. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday as this has been a fairly difficult week for me and sleep.
