I think you should probably try going down to 1.75 and see how Miss Kitty does.

You need to find a dose that you can give every 12 hours and you'll get better results..if the 2 units is causing you to have to skip, that's a good sign that you might want to try a lower dose

Hopefully some others will chime in
 
I agree with Chris. Lantus likes a consistant dose amount, and dose times. I would try to find a dose that you can give the same amount every 12 hours. 1.75 would be a good starting point to try, BID.
