Happy Caturday everyone! Mannie had a nice day yesterday - we had an ugly pink start, but he did clear it quickly and spent the day passing through all the floors to wind up the night with a green 99. Barely green, but no complaints, and I will take it whenever I can get it. :-D It was a pleasant surprise this morning to have a 224: yellow and not pink. HOORAY on that one. I hope for a nice even mellow day for him, free of bounces, free of dives, just slow, steady and headed to greens. Wow Mannie: that's a tall order - you up for it?

Mannie felt great last night - he's always good, but last night was one of energy friskiness curiosity just plain happy. He was into everything - even testing, and eating and please pay attention to me. I wonder if it isn't that fact the some of the main living area holiday decor went up. He loves Christmas, and I wonder if all the antics last night wasn't his way of telling me: " ok, some of it's here, but where is the tree? I need the tree!, and tree skirt so I can sleep under the tree - come on woman! put up the tree!" During the holidays that is his spot - he never leaves it, sleeps under it, takes his toys there, defends that tree at all costs. :lol: I wonder if the nanners will take up residence there this year too. :lol: :lol: Guess I had better get with it, so he can have "Mannie's Christmas Tree"... He is good this morning: nanners secured, breffis eaten (feeder used on his own (YES!!!)), face washing 10 times over, napping in the nanners in progress. :-D :-D

Kitchen Krew! calling all kitties! We have Essi's OTJ party today - so much to do!! I have commemorative aprons and chef hats for us all - so let's go! Party menu is posted in Essi's condo - Here's to you Essi! Enjoy!! ~~ Chef Mannie

Great report for Mannie, as always Michelle! I like that green last night! yay Mannie!
I am going away for 4 days over Christmas and I did think about whether I should even bother to put up a tree this year.
I can't believe that it had come to that. :sad: Then, I told my DH that we will be back right after the big day, and it is nice for the whole time around Christmas to have a tree...it's just so festive. And we could celebrate OUR
Christmas before we leave and. ...and. uh...well, let's just put the tree up anyway, okay???

I will come clean here with you. I wanted to do it for Raja & Shadow really! :lol: Don't you dare tell my DH that this is what I am thinking though....
But my two are like Mannie. They lay under that tree the entire time! They LOVE it!
They say "We are WILD kitties...sleeping under a fir tree in the wild forest"

I say "Here's your dinner kitties....you are not wild kitties...there is no cold and no rain in our living room and you do not have to hunt for your food. And, BTW, have you noticed the twinkling lights on your forest tree..." but they ignore me. :lol:
I can't WAIT! I LOVE it! They are just SO funny, under the tree the entire time it is there!

I love that he has Christmas spirit :lol: Seeing him under the tree - you'll have to get a picture of that. It sounds adorable.

when my crew turn their noses up at some flavor of food...i try to remind them that there are kitties who have to feed themselves, and don't have homes to live in...but that's as far as i get before they order me back to the pantry for a different flavor...

Hey Mannie, Your pal Stu enjoyed sitting under the Xmas tree, too. He used to wash his feet in the tree water. Well, it's early December yet, so don't think you're going to get that tree right away! Wonderful menu for Essi's party, Chef Mannie!

Hi Pat - what a great post! it is so true... :-D :-D The whole time I was putting up this and that yesterday there was Mannie - watching... with the "well?" look. soon big guy, soon! the tree is coming! I've cut back alot on what i do put out now that the kids are grown and on their own, but still.... I hope you do put up a tree - it's just so festive and all, and well - for the furbabies! WILD KITTIES in their forest. :-D Funny part is when the presents make their appearance I have to leave space for them - they just move everything if i don't! :lol: :lol:

Hi Ella! Happy Caturday to you. Too funny on Stu and the paw washing... I wonder what Rusty's thing will be? One of my civvies thinks that is her new water dish, ugh... makes me be sure and keep it clean... and true - Mannie has a few days yet to wait for the tree.

Mannie does like the Christmas season! He is taking it on with a bang.

My first photo of Tess is under the Christmas tree. We adopted her the day after Christmas and when we let her out of the kitchen , she thought the tree was a great, safe spot to survey her new world. I'v e been debating the tree this year too, we have some new furniture and it is going to be tight in here.

Chef Mannie! Ready for kitchen duty, I've got the rosemary all nicely washed by the rain. Rusty is joining the krew? Yea!! He will have so much fun! -- Tess

Mannie is green like his Christmas tree...that's even more of a sign to get it up quick Michelle ;-)

My cats like to play with the ornaments and I would always come home to find them rolling around on the floor instead of on the tree (where I left them obviously!). We haven't put one up yet either, debating over getting a real one or not. But I can't wait to do it....maybe this weekend...hhmmm....

Thanks Iorwen - I do too. Mannie just loves this holiday - so does his bean. We have a gorgeous sunny day here - it is cold at 32, but bright blues skies. I hope to take off in a bit for a short hike to the shore here, once Mannie has stopped dropping and decides to surf some. paws crossed!

Hi Pamela - mine too - at least when they were younger. Now they are content to sit under the tree - taking it all in.

75 @ +5. 10% has put on the brakes, we went with 3% LC this go around, see if that is enough to hold him til nadir, next test @ +5.5

Love the Mannie Christmas tree story and the photo from Tena. I am very concerned that with Tobey's first Christmas looming, we may be pulling him out of the tree :lol: :lol: Isn't it funny how they LOVE to lay under the tree? Our Gus sounds like Mannie...that is HIS place!!!

Mannie...the menu sounds wonderful for Essi's OTJ party!!! I've got everything ready for cookin'!! Thanks for including my seaweed wrapped eel with wasabi sauce...hope your mamabean doesn't eat it before we get it to the party :lol: I'm so glad Rusty will be an Apprentice and soon he will be a Sous Chef like Tess and me!!! It is a personal pet peeve of mine - i do not understand why these hiker folks think they are better than mother nature... i feel for them when they are in dire straits, lost, hurt etc, but damn it! you are not invincible and think twice before you head on out into winter conditions... ok - rant done.

62 @ +6, continued with the 10%, and will test @ +6.5. On Saturday mornings Mannie always get chicken at +6. He knows, must consult his internal clock, and shows up precisely at +6. So in addition to the 10% he had some cooked chicken. lucky dude! :-D

Hi Claudia! Yeah, a de-stresser :-D :-D I live close to the sound - love going down there. it's such a gorgeous sunny day here, cold, but ever so nice. It was a great walk - sound was so pretty! waves and birds and and sunny blue skies and awesome sounds of the sea. :cool: :cool:

Great numbers for Mannie today!!! I am so glad he loves his tree. They are the sweetest all curled up underneath. Halfway up the tree and it is tilting to the ground is another story :lol: We dare not have a tree that is not securely fastened to a wall here because it will be down in no time thanks to 2 very nosy climbing cats :-D
