Morning Eyoy yikes! Not sure what happened here! Maybe it's a bounce or I left too much food overnight. The only thing different Mags had was some Dasuquin sprinkled on her food, flavored chicken & tuna. It's like kitty crack to her. I've never seen her clean the plate like this when I added Pure Bites chicken or turkey. Have any of you used the Dasuquin? I mentioned to the Vet that I think Maggie has arthritis, as I notice a limp upon arising. She also asks to be picked up when she wants on the bed where before she would use her claws to climb up! All is well though even with this higher AMPS, purry, very chatty, good appy and mega prezzies yesterday just as I was posting to Zener's condo -- what perfect timing.
Today I need to get over to UPS and mail a package and Fax Maggie's VPI claims. After I have Mannie kitteh Barista's coffee ~O) ~O) I'll be more alert.

Yikes is right! Oh well. I'm sure she will come back down for you soon. Great job on the poo! She has a groove with that now. I have never used Dauquin. Have a great day Ann!

I know what happened...Mags has been chatting with Trix....I'm sorry my girl has been a bad influence!

I used to use Cosequin with Mario. I tried it for a while, then stopped, then tried it again, then stopped and switched to Adequan. When I first tried it, for a a few days, he seemed like a kitten again. But then he seemed to backslide, like maybe it didn't agree with him. I did use it for the amount of time the package recommended for building it up, but I eventually stopped. I tried a second time a while later, just to see if it was a coincidence or what...the same exact thing happened, so I stopped again. I never tried Dasuquin, though. For Mario, the Adequan has been a miracle.

Sorry I can't help with the Dasequin. I think that Maggie's number this morning is a delayed bounce from yesterday's vetty visit. Will you get her reports back today?

Hi Amy, I have heard of Cosequin for arthritis and lately more seem to be using the Adequan. Mags is getting back in sync with Trixie.

Ella, thanks, :lol: that's the push I needed and more coffee first. Yes, I'll get the b/w results back today. Mags's Vet likes to call and go over them with me, but I can get a head start and have one of the Staff E-mail them.

Angela, I think Mags listened to you, as she's coming down nicely. :-D

Hehehe Thank you for stopping by our condo this morning. I don't think Blackie would like the extra weight, Miss Maggie. :lol:

With regards to Blackie's weight, all I did was use the formula for calories, and adjusted her fuds from there. For the most part, she's holding her weight, with a 0.03 lb. (or so) +/- variance.

Good morning Ann. Thank you for your visit to our condo today. Maggie had a nice day yesterday and seems to recovered from her yellow AMPS this morning.

Glad that she is feeling good and giving you lots of prizzes. No prizzes is PurrFace's problem today but I think we caught it in time. We use the Pure Bites treats and the cats love them. I've never heard of Dasuquin. Is it a type of freeze dried treat?

Hi Mary, thanks for visiting, and yes, she's back to her nicer numbers. I think some of the AMPS was maybe food and part bounce! :-D

Angela, okay, no help from Mags to Blackie on the weight department. :-D Mags will need to try WW on her own.

Hi John, the Dasuquin is like a Glucosamine for kitties for her joint support. I mentioned to the Vet yesterday I felt Mags was gettting the early symptoms of arthritis, and he recommended trying the Dasuquin. She loves it. I break open the capsule and sprinkle it on her food. She thinks it's a treat.

Morning Ann and Maggie, let me know how the dausquin works, may need to try that with Scrabble, I do notice that he limps a little when he gets up from sleeping. Can you get it without a vet script? So glad Maggie is down for you, like Ella said maybe a delayed bounce from the vet? Hope you have a great day! I like your idea about decorating a little at a time although I know once I start I will just have to finish!

Well, Miss Maggie certainly took care of that bounce! I'd get the email from the office, so much easier to follow along w/ the printed copy while talking to the vet. Also you can post the copy from the email really easily.

Hi Michelle & Scrabble, okay I'll let you know on the dasuquin how it works. It says on the box available from Vets, so not sure if you can buy online. It seems no one here has used it.

I got my Dasuquin from Amazon. Check's didn't like it. It wasn't appropriate for his back problem anyway, so I stopped.
One of the vets, not the one we see, told me to try it. Couldn't hurt.
I think I paid around $25 for it at Amazon.

What a beautiful day, Miss Maggie had after all. Hope she surfs the night away in pretty blues. :-D

So nice to see Mags is back in the blues! Lat time I was on the board she was hanging out on the higher levels so it's nice to see her back in the swing of things:)

Mags has been eating a fair share, so hope it will keep her surfing thru the night.

Barb & Checkers, thanks on your experience with Dasuquin. That is the Vet's reasoning with trying it on Mags to see if it works. If not, on to something else. Mags is loving it sprinkled on her food and cleans the plate. If I buy it thru the Vet, I may get reimbursed thru VPI. They reimburse me for the Cisapride and Lactulose, as both are compounded via prescription.

Tamara so good to hear from you. Yes, Mags has been doing better. She's on a renal diet which is higher in carbs, so I've had to up her dose to compensate. We're hoping the Dasuquin is a help to her. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, but then cats are notorious for hiding their pain.
 
Way to find the lagoon, Mags! We started giving cosequin to Tillie about 2 months ago and it made a world of difference. She feels so much better now. She plays with her toys now and is eating well.

I looked up cosequin and Dasuquin. It looks very similar but Dasuquin has an added ingredient called ASU (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables) which are supposed to make it more effective. It certainly can't hurt if she like it, especially if the insurance pays for it.
