Decent day yesterday

So, Frank is seeing better numbers with hydration. We hit a little high note this morning, but we are coming back down. His skin is plumping up some, so he is becoming better hydrated in general. He will get 100cc this evening when he gets his food/shot. If I don't see any significant drop by Friday morning, I think I will be comfortable with an increase. He was in yellows and blues when he started having issues before so I am thinking that is where he will be when his fluid levels normalize again. His insulin levels have raised since then so we will see. Regardless, I'll be here all day to monitor him, in case he goes all fruity on me.

Sounds like a good plan. I do like those yellows/blues on him, but green really is the goal. And more juice will help reduce of the high end numbers too.

Good to see Frank is getting more hydrated. How's he acting/feeling in general?

He seems to be feeling well. He bathed himself earlier and has been bathing again for the last twenty minutes. We have a little runt dog that likes Frank a lot and they played together for a few minutes. He is mostly concerned about getting clean, though. He ate well and I am not seeing signs of polyuria or polydipsia. I would like to see more days like this for him.

He took his fluids like a champ. I was looking at that needle thinking he was going to jump through the roof. He didn't even flinch.

I bumped him .25. I'll be up a little while tonight. Looks like I am setting my alarm clock tonight. Any suggestions on the best time to check him?

Good luck with the dosecrease.

The fluids can bring the BGs down, but it does look like he's headed up from the yellows. I think, if it were me, I would start with a +2.5 or a +3, and then decide depending upon that number what time the next test should be. You may want to try to set your alarm for a +6 anyway.

Glad Frank seems to be feeling better - hopefully the dosecrease will bring his numbers down.

He came down enough to make me feel better but not so much that I am worried.

Cleo - We sing him the pokey pokey when we are sticking him. :lol: We tell him, "Sticky Sticky then Chicky Chicky!" He is getting a lot better about testing. We still need the kitty burrito in the mornings when he is really hungry, but he goes without it for the rest of the day. He has been eating turkey treats this week and I finally got him some baked chicken together. He seems to like that better.
