Don't know whether or not this might be of help to you, Patty, but both Saoirse and the Noodle couldn't fast for longer than 3-3½ hours, else they'd tend to vomit. As long as they had something in their tums - even a small amount - every 3 hours it helped prevent it.

Give the cerenia about 45 to work and then try small amount of food is what I would try.
