I'm pretty sure Casey went low last night as he was demanding food at about midnight but between being dog tired and a splitting migraine I didn't test just dumped a can of FF in his dish and crawled back in bed. So his amps is more than likely a bounce.

Thought you all might like to see this:

This is the afghan that I crocheted for my father inlaw for Christmas.

Now to finish the shawl for the step daughter, then the big project for DH begins.

Wow that's beautiful! How nice to get a hand-made gift.

Sorry about your migraine... ugh.

That's beautiful Mel!

Autumn looks like her normal self and Casey is in the sunshine!

Well, at least Casey didn't bounce sky-high!

And that is a gorgeous afghan! I love the colors on it. Wanna crochet me something? ;-)

Re: 12/4 Autumn amps-54, Casey amps-235

I'll crochet anything for anyone as long as the price is right. And I work very cheaply. lol
Basically what I've charged in the past is material cost doubled. So for what you are looking at there as it took 10 skeins of yarn at $2.50/skein would be a $50 afghan. Oh and I'm fast that one took me 3 days to complete.

The one I'm about to start for DH is the Harley Davidson Shield with flames. It is a little different as it is a charted pattern where the stitches aren't fancy but the pattern is actually worked into the piece sorta like a counted cross stitch piece.

Ooo! I'm gonna have to take you up on that offer and place an order in the next couple of months, especially with winter coming. :-D

Oh to give you an idea of size it is laying on a full sized bed. I actually lost my mind once and made a ripple afghan for a gay friend that was done in rainbow colors that was big enough to completely cover and hang to the floor on a California king bed. It was nearly 50 skeins of yarn and so heavy when wet it had to be washed in a commercial washer and took two people to move it from the washer to the dryer. lol

But I've also done pieces that are much smaller as well including a pair of lace & pearl gloves for a friend's wedding and a lace christening set complete with bonnet and booties.

I keep telling DH I have the skill set of the perfect wife if I was born in the 1800s. I can sew, knit, crochet, make silk flowers, bead with a loom as well as by hand, make jewelry, embroidery, do counted cross and needlepoint and quilt. Oh yeah and cook. Now if I could just make a living off of it lol

Hey! You know what? I bet you could do a San Fransisco 49ers afghan.............I'd pay for that for my son for Christmas next year. Already spent more than I can afford this year.

Out of curiosity, do you have a Paypal account? Some of us would put the price on a credit card and it would go to your Paypal account, so in essence you'd be able to accept credit cards for your items.

Don't know if you do, but thought I would mention it, just in case.

Re: 12/4 Autumn amps-54, Casey amps-235

Actually yes and yes. If you can find me a picture of their logo I can convert it to a chart and crochet it and what's even cooler is I can use the same chart to make a matching latch hook rug and a needlepoint or counted cross throw pillows.

I also have a paypal account not that I've used it in forever but it exists. I'm sure I can still access it. I set it up a few years ago when I was doing the flowers and gloves for my friend's wedding because they were dividing the wedding costs between both sets of parents and the couple so it just made it easier to keep track of what had been paid.

Well, how cool is that?!?! :thumbup You really need to get the word out, ya know?

Re: 12/4 Autumn amps-54, Casey amps-235

Lol ya I know...Martha Stewart has nothing on me. Well except a house in the Hamptons that my entire house would fit in one of her closets..lol

Seriously if I could figure out how without it costing a mint in advertising I would. I love doing it but don't want to mass produce to keep stock on hand. Did that for awhile in Denver for a consignment shop and burned out real quick. But custom orders are fun.

Imagine............how many babies you'd have with Martha's money!

Re: 12/4 Autumn amps-54, Casey amps-235

Lol about as many as she does lol

I'd just like to make enough to pay for the ones I already have and still afford a restraunt steak dinner every now and then

Seriously I need to start selling some of what I make if I want to keep making them. Afterall how many afghans can two people really use/store before you start needing a seperate storage unit. lol
