Good Monday morning,

Shasta has a vet appointment this morning (+3). Her annual check-up, shots, and most likely an anal sac expression. Oh joy! :shock: She woke me up a little before my alarm, but I didn't cave...didn't get out of bed...she can wait...not gonna do it! But man, was she bossy when I finally did get out of bed!?! Her appy seems good this morning. Always interested in seeing how vet visits affect her BG numbers. She's in the LB now...pretty sure she's leaving me some poop. I hear lots of litter being flung. (Yep....litter head just came back into the tv room...definitely poop!)

Got pee, poop, purrs, preening, and playing yesterday and a few this morning. I'll update after the vet visit. In the meantime, going back to bed (while I still can...I think the bags under my eyes are becoming smaller! ;-) ) Hope everyone has a great day and has a good, fun night as we bring in the new year (and hopefully don't fall off the fiscal cliff!) GOOD VETTY VINES for Shasta - I hope all goes well, and that Shasta passes vetty with flying colors. It is always interesting to see how these vetty visits affect their BG's. I hope it good. No stress, right Shasta?

I hope it's a good vet visit.

Shasta hasn't seen any green for a while. I'd be thinking about increasing the dose.

Ugh on that stinky pinky! Back to some blues and greens. Paws crossed on the vetty visit. You have Zener's complete sympathy on the anal gland expression. :roll:

Oh my goodness, I have been such a slacker lately. I am so sorry! Thank you, all, for checking in on us. Shasta was her usual self at the vet's office. For those of you who don't live near us...if you heard something unusual around 9:55am EST...that was Shasta. I was actually quite proud of myself today. I did not try to jump in and scruff Shasta. I let the vet tech and the vet do their jobs and they handled her very well. She got her rabies shot and her anal sacs expressed (thanks for the moral support, Zener!)

She's been sore and kind of pissy all day, but I can't blame her. And now, there are fireworks going off...started at 6pm. :roll: I went out and bought her a present...Christmas, birthday, New Year present all rolled in to one. However, she doesn't seem extremely excited about it...barely plays on it. Hopefully, it's just because she's sore...and angry.

Her weight is down to 10.0 lb. Don't know if I should worry about this or not. Sienne, I did fatten her dose tonight, so we shall see what happens.

Well done, Shasta. Zener is usually sore for a day or so after his expressions, poor guy. What did Shasta weigh before? I think she looks quite pleased with herself on the new condo. We have cat furniture sort of like that, we call it Versailles. :lol: :lol: :lol: Happy New Year!

I did have to "put" her up there, but I wanted her to know it was for her. This is her first cat furniture. She's always had her scratching post, but this is the first piece of furniture...well, other than all the furniture in my house that is hers. I just hope she likes it when she's feeling better...or I'll end up taking it back to Pet Supermarket!

The last time I weighed her was 12-16 and she was 10.16 lb; before that was 11-14 and she was 10.36 lb. Of course, this low carb stuff is also low calorie, so I know she's going to lose some weight, but I just don't want her to lose too much. Weird that I'm worried about my plump little girl losing her plumpness! :oops: :lol:

We had to convince Zener and Tillie that Versailles was for them but now they totally own it. :lol: :lol:

Oh I love her photos!! What a great gift and she looks so adorable. The second pic is very funny!

I bet you are so glad to be home and warm! Doesn't look like the vet visit affected her BG too much.

Happy New Year, Marje! Shasta and I are very happy to be home...well, she was happy until that vet visit this morning. :shock: Now, I think she's regretting being home!!!! :lol: I'm really hoping she decides to like her new cat condo. I'm going to have to start hiding treats on it to see if I can get her to interact more with it...versus just trying to eat some of the rope fringe!!! :roll:
