12/31 Shadow the Drooler Alpha

Shadow is confusing us.
Some of you know the story of how she will wave her paw at the dogs in our house when we scold the dogs.... as if to add her 2 cents.
Yesterday , Gypsy( beta) got attacked a couple of times where Shadow was actually on her back, claws and fury.
Today, she did it to Luna ( the alpha of the dogs) which scares me since Luna will turn back on her and might hurt her. ( but she didn't attack Shadow today as I was there)

The question....
Is it that Shadow is feeling that much better on her 0.1 dose of Bupe and re-asserting herself....Or Is the Bupe making her aggressive?
The vet thinks it's probably she's feeling that much better since mostly I only give her the Bupe at night...and it wears off... it doesn't accumulate.

We might experiment with trying to give her half of the tiny dose she is getting.

And in my head, I hear Arnold Schwartzenegger saying "It's not a brain tumor" while I wonder if Shadow has that.... :lol:

Yikes! Bupe is a pretty powerful drug. I hope you figure out what's going on. Happy New Year!

Her vet considered the 0.1 to be the lowest dose ....
It's what I requested since a normal dose (after surgeries) makes her dysphoric. I'm looking at the pre-loaded syringe and thinking of halving it. (thanks to our microdosing,
I can see it being half of what it is... and the vet doesn't)

That's an interesting dilemma, Rhiannon - we had a cat that used to rub his face in the dogs' paws then bite them - that didn't always go over well, either! ohmygod_smile I thought it was a marking / possession thing- this cat thought the dogs were his 'mommies'. Yours sounds like more alpha behavior vs. kitten. Maybe he's 'feeling his oats' as you say! Let us know if the bupe reduction causes any difference - I'm intrigued now!
