Hi everyone,
My cat Boo has been on 1.5 units of Lantus 2x a day the past week. (Newly diagnosed) She just had a check up today to see how she was doing and all was well. She has another appointment two weeks from now for a recheck/bloodwork, etc This evening upon removing the vial from the fridge the black rubber stopper in the bottom slid out. Half the of the insulin was lost. We managed to push it back in and there is enough to get through the holiday weekend. My question is will it still be safe to administer until Tuesday? There are no streaks and liquid looks clear. It was sitting inside a plastic prescription bottle. No leakage inside. It only came apart as we were trying to give her evening dose. It is a weird bottle. To be clear I'm not talking about the silicone top where you inject the needle. This is a rubber plug in the bottom of a glass vial. Any ideas?
