Good morning!

Yesterday's condo

12/30 AMPS=184 (0.50u); +2=193 +9=182
12/30 PMPS=178 (0.50u); +2=166; +5.25=187

12/31 AMPS=164 (0.5u); +2=191
12/31 PMPS=171 (0.5u); +2=164

Yesterday's appointment with the holistic vet went well.
I really felt good after the appointment.
First, she wanted to know EVERYTHING about Lucy, not only the medical history, but everything.
How she was when she was a kitten/younger, how she interact with people other than me, how she responds to pain, what she likes, what she doesn't like, what she does when she feels affectionate, plus medical history and the meds she's on.
She was interested in even a small thing like how Lucy likes to sit in a sunny spot, but doesn't care about the heat from the radiator, so we talked A LOT.
Then she did a physical exam, felt and checked Lucy from head to toes.
She really wanted to give her this homeopathic remedy that she thought would benefit her.
She really felt good about this remedy for Lucy.
So I asked her about it in a few different ways, what is it? What is it made of? If you are to list the ingredients, what are they? What is it for?
She said this remedy, Nat-m, is basically salt = sodium chloride. To make it into homeopathic remedy (granule), they use a small amount of sugar, but she said the amount is so tiny it won't affect her BG.
So I OK'd this remedy, and Lucy got the first dose yesterday during the appointment.
Lucy just stayed next to me on the sofa while the doctor and I talked.
She complained and wiggled and got away after the physical exam, but the vet wanted to see how Lucy walks and moves, so we let Lucy walk around the apartment for a bit while we followed her.
The funny thing was, Lucy kept coming back to where we were.
When the vet and I sat in the living room again to talk, Lucy came back and sat between us, purring!!!!
Very unusual behavior towards a stranger for Lucy, so I guess she liked this doctor.
As for acupuncture, the vet said we could do it also yesterday, but she preferred that we give a few days after the remedy, so Lucy does't get too much healing at the same time while her body is somewhat fragile.
I agreed because if we get both on the same day, I wouldn't be able to tell what's doing what. I made another appointment for next Monday for acupuncture.
She said she's not treating any specific condition or disease, but she's treating her as whole.
So if it works, I should see her overall energy/vitality improve. I am to e-mail her a short report on how Lucy's doing everyday until the next appointment.
Sorry it has become a long report, but this is how it went and I feel good!

Lucy is feeling very good this morning.
She even woke me up purring right next to my face 3 minutes before the alarm.
I don't know if the remedy has anything to do with it, but it's a good sign!
She's eating her breakfast well, still finger-feeding of course, but she's even eating the Wellness Turkey NON-favorite moussey kind.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year's Eve, and am sending vines to all in need!

Oh what a lovely report, Mariko :-D :-D
How sweet that Lucy likes this vet, and how nice to have someone want to know every little bit about your kitty, not just test results! Fingers/paws crossed that this new remedy helps Lucy stay feeling good!

Happy New Years Eve ohmygod_smile :-D :-D

Very nice report! It is great that Lucy "approve" of this vet - to me, it is always a very, very good sign when my cats show signs of truly liking someone, as I think they are an excellent judge of character. I believe they can sense something about people that we can't. It also sounds like this vet is truly very caring and thorough, too. We see one vet (not holistic) who is like this....she sees our cats as a whole, not as test results. I really like her...my biggest fear is that she'll leave the practice!!!

I hope the remedies help Lucy!! Have a wonderful New Year's Eve with Lucy and Ginger!

Sounds like the start of a good relationship. Hope this helps Lucy.

Sending healing vines your way. Happy New Year!

Thank you very much for your visit. :-D
Lucy is still feeling and eating well this evening. :-D :-D

Happy New Year to you all!
I am so glad I can end this year on a good note, and start the new year feeling hopeful.
Christmas was terrible for me as Lucy wasn't eating!!

Great report of the visit!

There is only one thing I'd like you to ask her. Typically CKD cats are prone to high blood pressure so in addition to low P foods, you generally want to keep their salt intake down (e.g. Feed foods lower in sodium). I would ask her about this considering Lucy's CKD.

I hope you have a wonderful New Year's and that 2014 brings Lucy better health and you much joy.

Thank you very much, Marje.
I will definitely ask the vet about that when I see her again on Monday.
At least, she got only one dose so far, maybe 4 or 5 tiiiiiny granules, and I'm not supposed to dose any more unless instructed.
She left some more for me to hold, but she said not to give any more unless she tells me to, and I guess that's why she wants a daily report.

I haven't checked her blood pressure... no.
I'm bringing Lucy to the regular vet on 1/8 (Wed.) - about a week from now, so I will ask them to check her BP then.
I will try and ask the holistic vet about the sodium in Nat-m tomorrow, but she don't suppose she does q&a via e-mails.
She does phone consultations, like $45/15 minutes....
I thought homeopathic remedies are super dilute so I didn't really worry about excess salt.....
I'll try to google some more...
