Good morning Lantus Land!

YEAH for China!! Wonderful AMPS to start the day! Hopefully she'll keep it up!

I just this second realized we have a problem tonight...The family is going out for a special New Years Eve dinner and reservations are for 5:00. This isn't the kind of place you're going to get in/out of in an hour, and China's supposed to get her PM shot at 6:00. I'm betting we don't get out of there until at least 6:30 and there's still about a half hour drive back home

I absolutely can't back out of another "family" function after I had to drop out of Christmas day, so I really don't see any choice other than to shoot late tonight.

Of course this HAS to happen as soon as she's starting to get some decent numbers and shooting late will more than likely throw her off :sad:

Anyone got any other ideas??

Yay China, you are looking beautiful today :-D If only my Chyna would follow suit ;-) Sorry about the shooting late tonight, I hope someone can help you figure out some good plan! I hope you have a great New Years Eve, Chris party_cat

Nice start for China today. Sorry your plans interfere with shot time. Maybe she'll just keep surfing even if you have to shoot late.

Too bad you couldn't have inched this morning's shot up a little later, to make the difference between morning and evening a little smaller. That's what we do when we know we have to shoot late, and it seems to help. Otherwise, we just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. I'll be praying for China that this doesn't mess up this good run she has going. Have a wonderful time tonight - you have earned it!

Thanks for the visits today!!

I feel like a total idiot on the shot/dinner fiasco but I only have myself to blame. I made the reservation! I could have made it later, given China her shot (maybe a little early) and then gone to dinner. Of course if I'd remembered, I could have also been pushing her shot time back by 15 minutes per cycle for the last several cycles and changed her shot times to something like 7:30 or 8:00 and then start working back to her normal 6am/6pm shot times :oops: :oops:

It just never crossed my mind until just this morning. I guess maybe with all of the things I've had to deal with lately, it was just pushed too far in the back of my brain until today

Guess I'll just try to enjoy the dinner (it's at a really great place) and shoot her when I get home...and hope the late shot doesn't affect her much

Chris, you are an amazing caregiver. I don't think I could have done all you did for China with testing, recent dental trips, missing Christmas, with your

mom recuperating as well as your own health challenges. Try to have a nice time. You definitely deserve it. China will do fine. SOme of us give fur shots

once and awhile and our babies are fine. She will do fine with a few hours late for one day.

Boy am I full!! That was some good eats!!

Ended up shooting exactly 1 hour late, but that's no big deal. Won't take long to get her back on schedule. Was hoping she'd continue with the great numbers she's had today, but between Pre-shot and +1 she jumped up 89 points

Not sure exactly why she'd jump that much but with China, it never does any good to wonder why she's doing anything. Just ends up giving me a headache

Hope everyone has a safe and joyous New Years Eve and may all our kitties go OTJ during 2014!! I'm staying home like many of you are and am just going to spend some time with my kitties cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

I'm not quite sure what to think about China's numbers tonight. Her shot was an hour late and then at +1 she's up 89 points, and at +4 she's down 115. Have no real idea if I have anything to worry about since this isn't like her to go up that much, that quick...now the quick fall is more her style. Anyway, I really don't know how to interpret this cycle because it's so unusual for her. Any ideas?

I don't know - could be food spike, could be that the 1hr late allowed the insulin to wear off farther than usual. i wouldn't worry too much about one number.

overall, she looks great. she's had 2 days of nearly every # being under 200 - and that's wonderful.
