Oh good grief, just when I was thinking to increase a bit, he gives me this, for an AM number.
He ate at +11, because he was begging for food. I did not test at that time.
Now at test time, he gives me a 60!

Should I give the regular 1.25?

Last night's shot was slightly higher at a fat 1.25.

Shot is due now.

Sheesh, I just remembered, I should not have given gravy; should have waited to see if he rises on his own

I'm not qualified to give dosing advice, I can tell you if it were Baby I would give the shot, feed & get a +1 & +2 and monitor the cycle.

don't give HC, this is a good # not one you want to inflate, you want a green surf.

you have a lot of data, and I see one preshot in the 60's that you stalled on...if you can retest and see where he is at...
hopefully he will go up so u are comfy shooting...

Sienne, I fed, because it was just normal routine to feed before shooting. Test, feed, shoot.
I just fed a higher carb than normal, 'cause I was a bit nervous about the lower number. Not panicked, just cautious.
I gave usual 1.25, forty minutes late.
I'll be home to watch.

The routine is spot on. However, if you get a low number and are concerned about shooting and decide to stall, don't feed. The value of stalling is that it tells you if the numbers are going up (or not). If you feed, the direction that numbers are heading is masked by the influence of the food. I have shot a low dropping number and it is a LOT of work to prevent numbers from tanking. I don't recommend it.

Barb, I used to have a checklist w/ questions I would ask myself before shots because I was always so sleep deprived and things would get so complex for us. I couldnt trust my mind half the time. Of course every situation was different, but it helped knowing I had written instructions when I was clearer in my head.

Great job Barb and you are as cool as a cucumber!!! Glad he got that food spike at +.5 and +1 and way to stay on top of it. Hope the LC will let him surf

Nice going today, try to get a test or twow/ no food once Checkers gotw up. You want the rise or surf to be non food influenced.

Ann, I don't feed after +3, usually. He does get a bit of tuna after tests. If I forget, he'll sit in the kitchen and stare me down.
Or, like this time, he was all snuggily sleeping in his big cuddleball, under a table. No way was I gonna bend down and get him out, so......run the can opener; out he comes.... TUUUUUNA! :lol:

Oh, this bean is so pleased with today's numbers. I'm already anticipating red for tomorrow morning. Ain't I the optimistic one? :-D

Does anyone know why cats PM cycles are lower than AM?
