12/30 Trixie AMBG 112 - back to vetty/AB on board/BW back

Yesterday

When I got up this morning, I found evidence of Trix scooting and she was uncomfortable again. Not as bad as the other night, but enough...so we took her back to the vet this morning. Her BW is back and did show slightly elevated WBC, so it is possible/probable that she does have a bit of an infection going on. We started an AB (simplicef) this morning.

Her other BW is not too bad, all things considered. Her BUN, creatinine and phos - while still crappy - were all actually better than they were last summer (and better than they had been for a while). Her hematocrit is down a bit, though, and her potassium is slightly up...both a little concerning, but she has been dealing with advanced kidney disease for 3 years now. We'll probably switch her subQ fluids from lactated ringers to sodium chloride.

We'll recheck her BW in a month.

Her appy is still pretty decent.

I can't decide if I'm super stressed or not...the fact that she still seems pretty spunky and is eating OK helps. But my head does definitely hurt....tired of having crappy staycations.

Come on sweet girl time to let those ABs do their thing... your bean is worried but you are helping put her mind a bit at ease with how you are acting... time to relax, let the meds work and heal... time for a massage and a good dinner for the bean Amy... or some treat for yourself.. sounds like you really need it

Civvie Jett was doing that same scooting, had gland problems and was super uncomfortable, sounds like Trixie. He was diagnosed with Colitis and put on metronidazole tiny tabs, they resolved his issues pretty quickly.
