Had a busy week. Busy weekend coming up as we will be traveling to western NC to visit my son and his family. Max isn’t having such a good day today. He is still having occasional loose BMs but only once per day. Eating well. He has just started the Visbiome. He had been taking the S. boulardii which also helped. Didn’t think I was supposed to give both so I stopped the S.Boulardii when he started the Visbiome. I put a little slippery elm powder in his food this morning also. He had an asthma attack soon after breakfast so I’m not sure if the slippery elm triggered it or not. He does have several allergies but elm was not one of them. Poor little guy, about the time he starts having pretty good BS levels, something else happens and they shoot back up. Aww, poor Max. Looks like he's not used to those long stretches of blues yet.

I think you'd be OK giving S. boullardii and Visbiome.

I might try that if he has another loose BM. I hope he feels better before the weekend before I visit family.

There is a maintenance dose of S. Boullardi vs the stop diarrhea one.
Yes I read that on the Food fur Life website. I was just doing 1/2 capsule twice per day and that worked. I am giving the Visbiome once per day. I’m assuming it’s once per day. I have the packets of powder and he gets a dash once per day.

Callie's been struggling with her asthma and allergies in the last few months as well. It is so hard when they've got multiple chronic health issues. Hugs to you and Max. :bighug::bighug::bighug: I hope he feels better soon.

Thank you! This time of year is the worst for Max’s asthma. It really is hard with so many health issues. I wish I could do something more to help him. I hope Callie starts feeling better soon also!:bighug:

Poor Max. I can’t wait until we are all watching him in blue and green numbers. I agree that s. Boulardii and visbiome should be fine together since they are so different- s. Boulardii is a yeast and Visbiome is probiotics. And slippery elm also works completely differently - hope he doesn’t have an allergy to it! Sorry about the asthma attack. I am sure that didn’t help his numbers. Who’s going to watch him for you this weekend?

Thanks Suzanne. I’m going to ask my sister to check in on him for me. We will only be gone for most of the day Sunday. So I will leave food in the auto feeder. My sister doesn’t want to check his BG though. She won’t stick him at all. She’s the only one I have to check on him though. She will give his inhaler if he needs that. None of the rest of my family and friends really care for cats. I hate leaving him like that but we have to visit my son and family because they were not able to come for Christmas with the new baby because of my husband being sick. They also don’t want to travel with the baby yet…so we are going there. Max’s diarrhea stopped then started again after he finished the Flagyl. So that, and the asthma and his BG being up is a lot to deal with. The Bene-bac or pro pectalin both have sugar in it but either of these helps some with the diarrhea too.

I am sure it will be okay. That’s sweet of your sister to check up on him.

I hope you have a wonderful visit and enjoy that baby! I think you will.
Thank you! I’m looking forward to to seeing him again! He’s getting so big. My sister loves Max. I just wish I could get her to check his levels but she just doesn’t feel comfortable, so I’m not complaining. At least she comes and looks in on him.
