Does your kitty [or droolers/pets] have middle or nick names?

I have 4 civies:

Clifford [cliff]
Katie [Katie kins] it started out as "Katie did"
Sammy [Sam Sam]
Ally [cat]
Sara GA [Sarwa] This is how Dawn's daughter would pronounce her name when they were watching her while I was away.

Droolers:

Denny [Den Den]
Buffy [Buff]

Prayers going out to all that need them. :YMHUG: Hope everybody has a nice New Year.

Wild Bill (GA)- Willy Nilly Billy
Homie (GA)- My Homiemans, Homeroo, Homie o' my Heart
Seandor(GA) drooler- Sean Doggery, Seanie-bear

Annie- Anniekins, Annie-Fannie-Banannie-Trannie
Smudge- Cur-Smudgeon, Mudgie-Moo

and, well...Binks- he's got about 80...
including Beanie, Beaner Neener, Beanie Weenie, Beeber Baby, Beanie Booty...and my favorite- MR BEANIE BUTTSKY!
(He would like all to know he was named for Zachary Binks from Hocus Pocus, and not Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars  )

What a great idea for a Loose Lips condo!

he wouldn't allow me to post the "unflattering" ones, with the understanding that he wouldn't reveal MY nicknames

my favorite came from celi - punkerdoodle! we call him punkin pie sometimes - i confess i'm one of "those" pet owners when it comes to punkin. he's a sweetie. we've always had a special relationship with him and halloween - being orange and punkin and all. so here's a couple of halloween costumes. we've never dressed him up because he has too much dignity - but i think it's CD that had a link to a cute website with someone who dressed up their cat. made me laugh!

OMG, Julie. The photo of the cat in the pumpkin costume just cracks me up! I love the expression on the cat's face: "Really? You think this is cute? Really? I'm tolerating this for the moment but I'm going to pee in your shoe later on. Pay back is a b*tch!"

pee in your shoe? bwahahahahahaha

Ann & Tess have the most incredible Samurai Cat costume I've ever seen!
maybe she'll see this and post a pic...
or maybe i can find the one she posted :-D

Yes Sienne it looks like you've hit the nail on the head speaking for punkin. Julie those pictures are so cute!

Can't forget Celi's nickname for Sara-Sara bear. She will always be my Sara Bear.

We don't pamper/spoil are pets do we? :-|

I have nicknames for almost all the LL kitties...
it's just how my brain works
and i'm just crazy enuff to associate songs with their names, too.

this is the armour pic Ann posted for Tess at halloween
how cool is that?!

catarmour.jpg

OMG, love the pics! And Sienne is totally right! I always love the juxtaposition of the cat and dog costume pics in ads for places like Petsmart, Petco, etc.

Dog: doo, doo, doo.... I'm a reindeer!!!
Cat: I #@%$! hate you.

As for Nicknames:

Willie: Dubs (thanks, Celi!), LeDublian, P Fizzle, G Monies, Puff Fatty/P Kitty/Kitty (The Diddy Chronicles), Poopie, Senor Fatass (back when he weighed 23 lbs... doesn't work for his svelte 13 lb. self these days!), Senor P Kitty.... the list goes on!

Herbie: The Herblet, The Herbster, Bit-Bit, Miss Bit, The Misbit, Babycakes... basically, a nickname for every week she's been in our family!

Miss Jezebelle (GA): Miss Belle (esp. if she was in trouble, at which point, she would get a "MISS BELLE, No M'am!!!," at which point she KNEW I was serious!  ), JB, Tiger Lily, Miss Kitty....there were many more, I'm just slow this morning!

Fun idea for a Loose Lips!! :-D :-D :-D

Some how I knew you had nick names for all the LL kitties. :-D I do songs too. Drooler Denny's song is Oh Denny Boy [Oh Danny Boy]

That armour is really something! Wow

One of the vet techs at LVRC nicknamed Tawny "Tawn-Tawn" and Tawny loves that nickname.

Tinkerbell's nicknames are: Tinker-doodle-bell and Belle.

And the two of them also share a nickname: "Hello Beautiful."

I'll spare you the nicknames of the other 20 critters around here. LOL.

And it was brought to my attention recently that many don't even realize that "Desi" is my nickname, short for "Desiree", which is NOT pronounced as "Desi-Ray" in the Southern fashion but as "Desirie" w/a long eeee sound as in the Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention Reuben and the Jets album of c.1969 on which a song is entitled "When I'm Dancing w/Desirie".

TMI, huh?

ROTF!!!!!!!!

my late brother Greg got his all-time best (or worst) nickname from a Frank Zappa song...
Greggery Peccary !

Moonie--Moon Goon, Mookie Moon Moose, Mookie Girl, Moo Moo, Moonie Mookster, Moo Loo, Be Be Doll, BoopBoops, Baby Girl,-my Love!
(Boy sound nutty!)
Copper(GA) Ka Boy, Ka bonie, Baby boy, Ka Coolie, Doll Boy--miss you!

No outfits for these two, I couldnt even put break away collars on them..they always broke away
Those ferals always like to be free!!
Did all this all come from my post to Mookie the other day, when I told them I called Moonie-- Mookie?
This is fun regardless--Glad Peeps from the outside arent reading this--(Us crazy cat ladies!!) ;-) ;-)

Leo's middle name is Louis, Leo Louis III. Don't ask me where the III came from, I just thought it sounded appropriate!

As for nicknames, it's usually Fleo or Lee and I can't forget Handsome!

Mikey: Mr. Cat, Big Fat Mikey (he used to be), Fat Fella, Fella
Jesse James: Monster
Smidgen: Midgen, Midge-a-mite

Howie: Howie Wowie, Wowie, Wow, D-O-G

Henry (already a nickname show name JJ's Blaisin' Sky): Bubba

Binks' song is "Binks B"...sung to the tune of "Roxie" from the musical Chicago.
You wouldn't BELIEVE how we've transformed the lyrics for that.

his favorite part is

"He's gonna be a celebrity,
that means 'somebody everyone knows'.
They'll recognize his eyes, his hair,
his teeth, his butt, his ears, his toes!"

(and of course, i touch each lil body part while we're singin )

no crazy cat laydees here!

Leroy aka Crayon
Emma aka Toaster
Merlin (GA) aka Squishy

It's kind of an odd story about Leroy nickname. You know the Disney movie Lilo and Stich? I think in the second movie (Leroy and Stich?) all 625 alien experiements are shown and number 625 was called Rueben because he makes sandwhiches. Mom for some reason can't pronouce Rueben (English is not her first language) so she called him Crayon. When I gave Leroy his name, Mom just started calling him Crayon and it just stuck.

Emma's name at the rescue was Toaster Strudel. I guess her original family had kids and you know how kids give pets odd names sometimes. I renamed her to Emma but still call her Toaster sometimes. Her Catster profile is Emma Toaster Strudel.

How Merlin got the nickname of Squishy

how did i have the idea that merlin was called squishy because of sub-q fluid noises? that's what was in my head. apparently i made it up. and i then believed it so much i told my cousin about it over Christmas - her cat gets sub-q fluids twice a week and she said she never hears anything.

i need a brain transplant. this one doesn't work anymore. ohmygod_smile :-D

Too funny Celi! My DS's name is Zachary, and we call him Binks all the time!

As for middle/nicknames:
Muffin, Kibby and Shnookie are not their original names, they started as nicknames, but are now the real thing. Muffin was originally Angel, Shnookie was Midnight, and Kibby was Skittles. My kids named them when they were only 2 weeks old. (the cats, not the kids  ) Now they have other nicknames:

Muffin: Muffsies, Little One, full name Muffin Puffin Stuffers
Kibby: Misser Meisser, Kibson, Kibbs, full name Mr. Kibby Meister
Shnookie: Shnooks, Shnookums, Big Guy, full name Shnookie Wookums
Sam: Mamas, her full name is Sambalina Josephinas (although her name was originally Samantha)
Oscar: nickname Punkin, Punkin Pie, Okars, full name Oscar Jameson McCormack
Cleetus: Sweetus Cleetus, Cleets McGeets, Cutie Pie, full name Cleetus Francois McCormack

(McCormack is my kids' last name)

Tom used to be:
1. Dusty - if there was dust anywhere, he'd be rolling right in it.
2. The Inspector - Had to inspect any work being done. Didn't matter if it was us, a contractor or the cleaning lady.
3. Tomnado - got that when he was a crazy kitten.
4. The mighty hunter - the best toy mouse hunter out there.

Minnie:
1. Fatso
2. Minnie moo
3. Turkey

Sunrise:
1. Chicken, chicky, chick-a-dee
2. Furball, purrball
3. Chick-a-dee-do-dah
4. Tom's apprentice, now the Inspector - She learned from Tom and took over now.
Sunrise is DD's, we have lots of fun with her name.

On a completely unrelated subject, I went to Las Vegas in November with my mom and sister and we were driving one day and saw this. Some cats travel in style.

And I forgot the drooler! Rumpelstiltskin. We call him Rumpy for short (he came from the shelter with this name/nickname, and seemed to respond to it, so I didn't change it) I also call him Rumps, Rumpus, Doglet, Puppen Doggers, Crazy Mutt.

Rusty: Rusty Russ, Mr. Russ, Lord Russell, The Laird, Mr. Cat, Brummel (Edward's name for him), Mr. Sweets

Stu: Brummel (Edward likes this name because it sounds like the sounds cats make when they are comfortable), Mr. Cat (the original Mr. Cat), Sweety Cat, Sweet Stu

Alice: Just Plain Alice, Little One, Little Sweetie

No costumes for our cats!!!

Ella

This was a great idea, Jan!! Happy New Year to all cats, whatever their names (and let's not forget the secret names that only the cats themselves know: see, T.S. Eliot, "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats").

  So true!

My herd had a variety of wacko names.

Jetta: Her offical name is Jettta Mae. She generally goes by "The Act" or "JM". On the older cell phones that had the T9 word recognition and whenever I typed cat it always ended up as act. So after 300 text messages to DH over time the name stuck. She's also got names such as Yak Sak (from her chronic vomiting days), the ancient one (being the oldest here). DH also used to call her "part of self" because I used to literally wear her like a shirt so she was always part of me. As she's gotten older this has become less and less...

Civvies:
Raisin- Raisel-Basil, Rasels, Raisin-Maisin, Raisin Bran
Olivia- Miss Olivia, Livvies, Lib-dia, Libby, the bad seed
Ranger- He's an American Bobtail so that's where come from- Stub, Stubbie-Dubbie, and Stubble

Drooler- Sage Marie is her official name, but I'm not sure she'd even answer to that if we tried   She goes by Schnoodle, Schnooey-Duey, Doodle, Doodle-Duey, and Schnoodle McNoodle.

The tortoise Tortuga is generally known as Tortbot, Tortie-girl Or Tortamongous.

And ohmygoodness. The Bird. Our Harlequin Macaw's official name is Chicken wihich is bad enough all it's own. However, we also call her Chicken-wicken, Fowl bird, Fowl Hen, The Foul Fowl. And what she produces is not bird poo. We affectionately refer to it as Chicken soup

Well, before typing all this out I'd have said my feet were firmly fixed in the concrete of sanity. Suddenly I"m not so sure. But what a super-fun condo!

Honey - was already named Honey when i got her at 1 yr of age. The guy who had her before me named her that so he could say "Honey, I'm home!" when he came home from work. I call her my "Honey Bunny" :-D

Cini Mini - My kids were 4 and 5 years old when I rescued him. We were trying to think of names for the itty bitty kitten and they wanted to name him after "orange food", like pizza, orange, lasagna, etc. One morning we were eating breakfast at Burger King and, at that time, they had those little cinnamon buns called "Cini Mini's", we all ate one bite and that was it! The name stuck ever since. :-D Cini Mini's other alias is "Cini Mini Man", or a continual "Cini mini mini mini ......." till he comes when I call.

Tabasco - The newest and craziest cat in the house. We found him in a grocery store parking lot trying to follow people in to the store. He was meowing non-stop the whole time and running as soon as anyone approached him. My daughter and I came back later that night to try to catch him and put him in a carrier. After chasing him around the parking lot (and me almost getting hit by a car) and my daughter watching this fiasco, she walked right up to him and he lept in to her arms and cuddled with her. :o I knew from then on this was her cat. Once we got him home and cleaned him up, we saw that he was a red tabby and being crazy and unpredictable as he was, my daughter named him Tabasco. He has also been called "Wacky Tabacky", "Kit-ten", "Toblerone", "Taquito", "Mr. T", "Trouble", basically anything with a "T" in it because he never comes when you call. ohmygod_smile

Nola (dog) - NOLA is the abbreviation for New Orleans Louisiana. I knew a guy with a poodle who had that name and it always stuck with me as a great name for a dog. It also serves to remind me of home (I'm from New Orleans). Other names we call her are "Nola Bola", "Nola granola".

My brother was out in CA at the time that I got Leroy. I mentioned to him one day that I had to go feed Crayon. His response was something like "You have to feed a crayon???"

Lots of great nicknames out there :-D

I love this condo :-D What a great idea.

Bailey is usually just Bailey-girl or Bailey-cat. Sometimes we call her Razor Claws (for reasons that would be obvious if you met her  ), and I call her Sweet Pea when she is affectionate.

Maddie (civvie) is actually Madison but we never call her that. She is frequently referred to as the Monkey or Maddie-Monkey, because she will climb people like they are trees (she likes to be held or carried on one's shoulders, and doesn't always wait to be invited!)

Harley (civvie) is sometimes Little Pumpkin (cuz she's orange) or Little Stinker (cuz she's naughty) We also call her the Orange One, Orange Lightning, or The Little Dog (cuz she imprinted on the dogs as a baby - follows them around, plays with them, grooms them - it's adorable).

Blue (drooler) is Blueski, Blue Man Chu, Boo Man, Poo Man, Blue Skedoo, and sometimes Big Stink. He will respond to almost anything at this point.

Chloe (drooler) is Chloe-Belle, Pookins, or Pretty Pookins... and sometimes Little Stink (see above)

And yeah, I feel like a crazy person now!  This is not something I would be able to share just anywhere... just sayin' ;-)

Tess was originally, Katie, at the shelter. Uh, nooooo. She soon became "Tess of the d'Erbervilles" (Erb being my last name) AKA: TessTess, Tessina, Poo, Pooba, Puddin or Pud (as in "I taut I taw a puddy tat!") I think KK is my fav though, for obvious reasons.

Cleo was of course Cleocatra or as her vet called her "The Beast!" she hated the clinic. Rollie (her vet) is a good friend, shortly after we moved to CA they came to visit. Cleo ran out in the morning jump up to see who was sleeping on the futon " :o  WTF! It's HIM!!!!!!!" and disappeared!

I love the artist that did that armor, it's real not just CG. http://jeffdeboer.com/Galleries/CatsandMice/tabid/77/Default.aspx But I think the scuba suit further down that page Celi linked to is a close runner up!

Thanks guys! Glad everyone had a good time! Knowing we are all made of the same stuff I knew that there was an abundance of nicknames lurking. We are crazy aren't we. :-D

This is laugh out loud fun

Mookie already sounds like a nickname, but I still have a few others:
Mooks, Mooksy, Mookster, Mookie Monster, Mookaroni, and Mookalicious

Henry is: Monkey, Boo, Gatto, and Bibi (short for habibi)

I don't know if my cats are ever called by their REAL names  !

Trixie: Trixie Doodles, Trix, Doodles, Doodlebug, Bugs, Trixie Bug, Bug-A-Doodle
Frankie: Frankie Doodle, Franks, Frankies, FrankieGirl, Baby Girl Cat, Frankster, FrankieFurter
Petey: Petey Pie, Sweety Petey Pie, Punkin' Eater, Punkin
Mario: MarioCat, M, M-Ski, Little-M, Marios
Zen: Zen-Kitty, Zens
Noah: NoahCat, SleepyBear, FuzzButt

I think that scratches the surface...

Well both our girls have nearly a hundred nicknames!

Mocha - sugarbear, bear, bear-bear, bear-bear-who wears no underwear, BB (beautiful bear) roach, roachey, chuck, chuck the truck, crash, sinatra ('natra), blue eyes and of course, the one that started it all, mocha jo jo NO NO!!!

Our boy Cheddar was commonly called "ch'r" and he would often cry it out .. ch'rrrrrrrrrrrrr ..

KT: KTKitty, Big Boy, Big 'Un, KTKittyPook, Pook, Pookie, Fuzzy Britches, FuzzyButt, Mama'sBigBoyKitty. KT was 'Katy' when we adopted him as they thought it was a female AND he was rescued from a Katy Railroad car. 'KT' doesn't really stand for anything specific, just honors the Katy RR.

Snowshoe: ShuShu, ChooChoo, Snow, ShuBaaabee, SnoNo, NoNo, FuzzyButt, MotorBoat. He was 'CIC-1838' (or NOT CIC-1838!) when we adopted him from the city animal shelter. CIC-1838 was a short hair black/white young female with same face markings. Snow masqueraded as her completely thru their whole system INCLUDING the vet that fixed both of them....that was the only way he could get 'home' here where he belonged.

Nuisance: Funny Face, BabyBoy, MamaBaby, Nuis, Bitty.

Pepper: PepPep, Peppercorn, Stinkbutt

Scruffy: Scruffs, Buck, Bucket, PrettyBoy, Window, Loud Mouth, AngelBaby

Peanut: PeaPoo, PPNut, SweetPea, SweetBaby

This doesn't even list the droolers....

What a GREAT condo and what darling names for everyone!!!!

Here's ours:
Gracie: baby girl, crazy baby, Lil Stinka, Lil brown girl, G-squidge (that's her hip-hop name), Gracie Belle, Punkie, Gigi, gigiboolicious, lil chupacabra, and Lil G Money (but this one only in LL...thanks Celi)
Tobey: Tobey toes, T-Mo (his hip-hop name), Tobester, Tobelerone, Doodletobes (cuz he's alot like GA Max who we called Doodlebug), Tobes, Little Man, Baby Boy
Gus: ginger kitten, Guppits, Gussie, Gustopher, Gus Gus, G-Unit (hip hop name)
GA Teddi: T-bear, Miss Hippity Hoppity, Miss Feets in a Pile, T-beary bear, "T"
GA Max: Doodlebug, Doodie

Interesting to see that we aren't alone with "Doodlebug"!

I forgot that Trix and Frankie both get called "SweetPea" a lot. And, of course, when all else fails "Crazy Cat" works for all of 'em!!

LOL...I do songs, too! I was thinking that has to be our next LL Loose Lips thread. I do "Born to be Wild" for Frankie ("Get your motor runnin'..." 'cause she's got a real serious purr!) - just for starters  !

I don't know about you guys, but I think we're the sane ones in this world - we've got our loves and aren't afraid of that. More power to the LL kitties and their beans!!!

We entertain each other with talk about poo, puke, hairballs, sleeping positions, those adorable sleep mummers, cat kisses and of course all the nicknames. Where else could you find all that, other than this magical place. Thank you LL I've had a ton of fun tonight also. :-D :YMHUG:

Trixie, I think we are the sane ones too. Definitely have to do the song loose lips. I'm sure there are a ton.

Celi love the rap duo stage names.

 i think so too, amy! you have to be "special" to love our little ones like we do. some people *gasp* think cats are (cover your kitters' eyes and ears quick) JUST PETS! :o  :o

This is such a great condo! I LOVED the picture of the "cat house" on wheels in Las Vegas. That is my dream to have a mobile home so where ever I go my cats can always be with me!

As for nicknames:

The majority of my civies are short names so don't need nick names but my ex husband was from Argentina and he "renamed" a few of them with spanish slang names. There was a time all (8) of my cats names began with the letter "M". Names that I got from the Spanish/English dictionary. Cat #5 I chose "Mani" which in Spanish was like peanut. My ex said "how can you name a black cat peanut (because peanuts are brown)" So his nickname is "negrito" or Little Black (but he's huge! almost 16lbs, not so little)

My favorite nickname of the 15 civies is "booger". He was given the name "Light" (his sister was "Love" and together they were Love and Light) but he got a horrible URI 3 days after I started fostering him that lasted almost 1 month. To this day he gets these really huge, gross "boogers" that when he sneezes fly all over so he became "BOOGER". Not sure how his sister became Tinkerbell, but that's what she is now called.

The rest were named so perfectly they don't need nicknames. Michi was named after my ex'es first cat, her brother is Memo (short for Memoso, laid back which he is),I have a seal point siamese that looks like a squirrel monkey so we name her "Monita" (little monkey rough translation) her brother is Michu a take off of Michi, named by my stepdaughter, 99 is named after agent 99 in Get Smart. Monica was already named when I was fostering her, just kept it. Marley was named because she was playing with a cell phone that had bob marley on. Vakita (little cow) is black and white. MIckey is the screamer so he was named after Mick Jagger's singing voice by a co-volunteer when he was dropped off at the shelter. Vanilla Bean is a linx point Siamese named for her creamy coloring. Skye was named because her coloring (looks like a muted snow shoe siamese) looked like a sky/sunset. Smudge was name due to the black "smudge" on her forehead that has now disappeared :(

Oh yes..... it is Jezebel "wicked woman" S....
She has lived up to her name quite well! I will take care next time I name a cat...
My other one is Sassafras.....aka Sassy. That kind of says it all! lol
Debie & Jezebel

Looks like I'm late to this thread but it looks so darn fun i just had to post on it too.

Our sugarbaby Artemis. We got her as a kitten and i was specifically looking for the most playful of the bunch so she could keep my other cat zorro busy and she was hunting the toy so seriously that "artemis" the little huntress seemed perfect. My husband saw her and it was love at first sight he spoils her rotten.
Artemis- Artemisy poops, or pooper, or pooper scooper, fuzzy but, princess fuzz, and chibi princess (cause she has huge anime eyes on her tiny little body like anime chibis do)

our civies
Zorro- wig maester 3000(self explanatory), fuzzy face, my little bandito (he's a tuxedo style cat and looks like he has zorro mask and a mustache with cape) even a white z formed in his furr which was uncanny. also Mr. Mustachio

Vesta- Fluffy butt, fluffina, princess fluff(she is a super fluffy main coon), little mama (when we rescued her she was preggoes and had 4 kittens we found homes for) Fuzzy mama

Columbus- little kitten abandoned in the snow that even though was so young we had to bottle feed him, was determined to try and explore the house; Hence the explorers name. He still does have to explore anything and everything. his nicknames are Bubbers, Bubby, emo boy or mr. whiney puss (he is a yowler who if bored or wanting attention sits there and whines super loudly)
