Re: 12/3 Michael amps 283 +6.25 54 +7 58Question
Typically if people want to slow down their cat's drop, they feed more often. I'm not sure what your feeding schedule is now, but if you want to try this, you just break up his breakfast into 3 or so "mini-meals" and feed him a preshot, +1 and +2 or +3. That can even out the carbs a little bit.
What are you doing right now, ie, what + time are you feeding him?
Is that the Tasty Treasures variety? I'm looking at the catinfo.org list and all the ones listing turkey and cheese are too high for the regular food of a diabetic cat. Looks like they are around 20%, which is a high carb food. You'd want to save those for when he's under 50. Even the mixed grill is 11%, which is probably more than you want to give him normally.
Here is the list with the Friskies part:
http://www.catinfo.org/docs/FoodChartPublic9-22-12.pdf The carbs are listed in the "C" column - for any regular eating you want under 10% - most people feed around 5%ish for most of the food. Medium carb is 10-15% and high carb is over that. A high carb over 20% is good for bringing up low numbers when Michael goes under 50.
The classic pates and the special diet varieties are probably the best ones to choose from - most of those look pretty good. The mixed grill is one of the classic pates, but at 11% , I wouldn't use it for a regular food.
