TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are really good today too!

I hope everyone had a great Monday. Mine was great. It ended up being a let the day evolve day. In decided early on to take a short road trip. The thought of being able to see a snowy river without too much hassle to get there was too good to pass up. It beat house cleaning so off I went. Here's what I wrote last nght about the day: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Our weather continues to be perplexing. Rains in some parts, sun in others and a whole lot of snow up in the mountains. I decided this morning to head on out towards Stevens Pass, see how far I could get before it became just too snowy for what I had intended for today, which was to visit a river, enjoy some outdoor time, and maybe see a flake or two. But not a blizzard.  . I made Gold Bar, maybe 25/30 miles shy of the Pass. I'd hoped maybe to head on up to Skykomish, or at least Index, but by the time I got to Gold Bar is was obvious that Gold Bar was as far as I was going. It was interesting: on the west side of Gold Bar, just a dusting of snow, on the east side there was close to 2", Funny how a few hundred yards can make such a difference. From the looks of the cars coming from the east it was coming down pretty good up By Skykomish, even more so by Stevens Pass, so.... enjoyed the Skykomish River where I was instead. Played in the snow some, it was a nice time. Very pretty there, all covered in white, but cold. I spent some time too in a small park in between the town and the RR tracks, walked the rails for a bit. Anyways ... nice little mini road trip on HWY 2. Came home to blue skies. You gotta love it. When I got home I went down once again to Picnic Point to watch the sun set. I knew it would be good, just by looking at the sky, sure was. What a nice topper for the day."

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties were good kitties yesterday - even Lola. Fancy that! Well, normal Lola. When I was in the shower last night Lola had climbed up on this rack that I have that stores all the towels... she had managed to remove the ones that were in her way, leaving some there so she could have this nice little bed on the remaining towels... which also gave her a perfect view of the shower. This seems to be the routine these days. Guess she wanted to be able to see my face. LOL: we were eye to eye.... so.... she lets out this huge meow, jumps to the floor, scattering more towels, and proceeds to begin this pounding session on the shower door!     That too is becoming routine. I could see Elsa and Bug peeking around the corner... They always seem to know when she is being Lola .... Once again I told them: don't be like your sister.  They promptly scattered.  All the kitties have been good as far as the Christmas decor goes. it remains where I placed it. Surprisingly Lola has not messed with any of it since round one the day before when it all went up. Seriously?? What is up with that??? Is she saving it all for the tree? Probably. YUPP! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone. Today is Seattle visit day with my friend in the early afternoon. WooHOO! And Breffis with my son. AND a hair cut in between. That is the extent of my social day today. wow -busy! We didn't get the snows they said we would, or the below freezing temps. it's 32, still cold, but better than 25. I am grateful, what with all the out and about I need to do today.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

Thanks for the snow pics. Last time I saw snow was when I was in Oregon a couple of years ago
I think it is the calm before the storm with Lola. The tree being the storm
Have a great day Michelle!

Hi Pam ~O) ~O) ~O) Awesome on the snow pics. :-D Better there than on my front lawn. It was so pretty up there, and glad I went. I truly do love snow, but hate having to get around in it when it hits local. it's like all the drivers put on their idiot hats and then hit the road. So traveling to it yesterday seemed to be the way to go. Sure was pretty up there. I suspect you are rght about Lola... and the tree. This will be more than interesting. THX on today - it should be great.

Good Morning, Michelle,
I well remember the Seattle idiot drivers when there was the occasional snowstorm. I rode my $5, second-or-third-hand bike to the university in all weather because I couldn't afford the bus, and when it snowed it was a challenge to avoid all those people skidding all over the road. (No helmets, no lights, no nothing in those days except a rubber raincoat!! and my books strapped on the back of the bike in a green canvas "Harvard book bag" (all the rage then).

Love your pictures from yesterday.

Have a great Seattle, social day today,

Ella & Rusty

Elsa, I REALLY needed that triple Ethiopian espresso this morning. THANK YOU!!

Oh I do miss the snow, at least the beginning of the season snow. When it stretched out to April in Minneapolis even I had enough!

Have a fun day in the City! Try not to worry about Lola, just have the camera on hand at all times!

What a beautiful sunset. I love the snow pictures. We only had a dusting one day so far this year. I can't wait to get some real snow. I'm surprised Lola has left the decorations alone. She is probably saving up for the tree.

I hope you have a good breakfast with your DS and visit with your friend today.

Hi, Michelle, Lola's towel/shower door routine makes me    .
Silly girl.
I also love the others' reactions (What on earth is she up to now??)

I hope you enjoy your day in the city today!

Lola and her pounding cracks me up. She is full of it. Think of how quiet your house used to be. Have a great night Michelle!

Hi everyone! How goes life today? Things are good here, the day has been good. Busy but good. Breakfast with my son was fun. It always is when we can get together. LOL: he orders banana pancakes and the stack that came was unreal. They were huge, loaded with bananas and they gave him 8 of these things, topped with whip cream. He was only able to eat half....  We are enjoying this place. it is a good replacement to the one we had been going to for so long. I also made Seattle this afternoon, and had a good time over coffee with my friend. We shared stories about our Thanksgiving, had some good coffee to boot. I was also able to make a dent in some Christmas shopping before I met with her. YAY! I can cross a few things off the list. Out cool/cold weather continues: 34 under clear blue skies, headed to 25 tonight. It is darn cold out there. I could deal with the 32/34 while in seattle, but then the winds picked up, and that was really really cold. Froze while waiting for the bus. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Hi Ella - LOL on the Seattle IDIOT drivers! and it is all TRUE! I feel for you on your bike, as I know what you went through. people here simply do not know what to do or how to drive in it, or have the common sense to stay home when it is bad as it can get sometimes .... crazy! THX on the pics from yesterday - it really was a fun time, even the snow was fun. THX too on today - I had a good time.
Auntie Ella - THANKS YOU! I am so glad you liked your coffee! The Ethiopian is Ella's special brew, just for you. I can bring more? Maybe a nice cup after dinner! :-D ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Ann - OMG on the snow stretch into April In Minneapolis. I am so sure.... the season last a long time there, and it is COLD! Sure is a pretty though. I am glad I went yesterday. It was wonderful to watch it fall. THX on Seattle, it was fun. Next week when I go I will spend some time in the main stores - just to see the holiday decorations. Ah Lola..... it is what it is, and a BIG YES on having the camera handy at all times.   I try not to worry, but always hope she has some common sense and doesn't get into something that will harm her. ;-)

Hi Melissa - oh yes on that pounding - it is so fun to watch. Those paws are going so fast! Good point - the house was quiet. hmmmmm.... not so much anymore. THX on tonight: will do!

Hi Carla - THX on the sunset pics - it was so so cine! Tonight's was goods too, but nothing compared to yesterday's. The Clouds add so much to it all. THX too on the snow pics. We haven't had any at home yet, part of me is glad it stays where it is right now. This was a 45 minute drive to get too, that I can do. sure was pretty! I thinks o too on Lola... she is waiting... an ambush I suspect. There was some evidence that she got into the garlands while I was gone.... busted! THX too on today - all was great. :-D

Hi Josie - I love her towel shower routine. It is fun. I especially love the part where she sits on those towels and meow. I'll talk to her and that little head is moving everywhere trying to figure out how to get to me. It's all fun. then the pounding starts: OPEN! Once I did, and all was well until the water hit her.   I see thar reaction from the others so many times. They just watch... and I can see the "Oh OH " look on their faces. Way too funny. THX on the city - it was fun. Good times!

Happy to hear that you and your son had a nice breffis. Banana pancakes sound yummy. I've never had banana with my pancakes, but I love bananas so much, I'm sure it would be fantastic! YAY for meeting up with an old friend and getting some Christmas shopping taken care of! As for Miss Lola and the shower watching...     Love that silly girl!

Hi Deborah - We did! And fun too. Yes on those banana pancakes. They are one of his fav breakfast foods, ans these were really good.
