Ok, I am doing a bit better....

I've changed the feeding schedule and here are the latest numbers. Yes, I've already upped the dose a smidge and am amendable to going to 2.5u this evening or leaving things alone for another few cycles.

The feeding schedule is now:

1 medallion at breffis/dinner (anxious for meal)

+2 half medallion at (runs from wherever he is at the sound of the feeder)

+4 whole medallion (maybe interested...)

+6 half medallion (doesn't touch until +9)

If anything, it appears to me, the curve has indeed flattened out. Which I was looking to gain stability and stop the drama drops.

What say the experts?

Edit: I only pulled two medallions for tonight, but can add a third for later in the cycle. I was going to feed 1 whole for dinner, half at +2, and a quarter at +4 & +6

Well no advice from me since after a year of Do Lou being FD I am still trying to figure feeding out but hope you get some good advice from others good to see you

 Aw shucks, I know you asked for the experts but I just wanted to stop in and say hello...nice to see you!
Hope you get some good suggestions....I will be back to read them myself! Hope you are keeping warm and doing okay....

How long have you had Atlas on the new feeding schedule? Not that I want to be a wet blanket, but it took at least a month or two for Gabby to really show any consistent difference in her cycle when I changed her food schedule. Michelle had the same experience with Mannie -- it took a while for our cats' metabolism to acclimate to the change. Intellectually, that makes sense to me since we're trying to alter the way food is being metabolized but then again, ECID and Mannie and Gabby are similar in the way that they bounce. I hope Atlas' numbers do flatten out. Just be patient, though. I've been much happier with Gabby's numbers but it did take a while.

It will be interesting to see how he does...are you giving the Nature's Variety raw medallions? Good luck...I hope it works...it's always great to see it work for someone and flatten out the numbers.

Yes it is the Nature's Variety Raw Medallions. It is the only thing that stopped the diarrhea after a very long 9 months or more of assorted trials and tribulations. We switched to the raw about a month ago, and Attie's bowel issue cleared up in 2 days. I was amazed. Yes, completely amazed. And he loves the raw food, I had no issue with him needing to be coaxed to even try it.

I had hoped that with the food allergy coming under control...his numbers might improve...silly me sometimes. :?

Hi Beth! Nice to see you. Glad to hear you're doing better.

As Sienne said, it does take some time to see the full effect of the feeding schedule change, but try to stick with it and be patient, it's worth it IMO.

As far as the dose, tonight is only the 4th cycle at 2.25u, I would stick with it for now. He may show you some nice numbers in the next few cycles...I hope so!

Thanks guys for the input.

Hi Ya Pat! Man has it gotten cold here, plus we're expecting Lake Effect Snow through Sunday I think...

I got the shovel out of the garden shed, stopped and picked up the eco-ice melter and was able to cut a nice deal on the Nature's Variety 4lb bags. The owner at the Mutt-Hutt is willing to order for me and let me have them for only 10% above cost! She sells the eco-ice melter, which I carry in my truck, for when I get to clients homes during the day that haven't been shoveled. I can drop this stuff and it doesn't hurt the concrete, flower beds, or pet paws. Plus it is green so you can see it!!! It's called Arctic Green. Clients ask what it is I'll tell Arctic Green...go to the Mutt-Hutt or I can offer to pick-up for them at a nominal fee.
