Re: 12/29 Tawny AMPS 283

Re: 12/29 Tawny AMPS 283

I agree: Tawny is doing so well (and you, Desi, are doing a fabulous job). Rusty is looking forward to seeing Tawny and Tinkerbell at the New Year's Eve party in his barn. May they come? Mannie will pick them up in the Kittybus. He'll have warm hats, mitts and scarves for everyone.

Enjoy the evening with your whole crew, Desi,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 12/29 Tawny PMPS 332

Her pmps is kinda high but there is probably a food spike in there, as she & civvie bro Rocket spent the day together in their own room where I left food out for her, she was 200 at +4 when I had to leave this a.m. and since I had to be gone for about 8 hrs I figured that was best.

She is doing so incredibly well, we don't want any setbacks!

Rusty, I would absolutely love to come to your New Year's Eve party! I feel quite well and think a party is just the thing I need. I guess I'll let Tinkerbell come, too. But Mommie made us promise not to cat fight over you, you are just soooooo handsome! What shall we bring? We were thinking of fireworks but since you are in Upstate NY it is probably a bit too cold for that! Love, Tawny

(When I first moved to the Deep South, being from the Midwest originally, I thought fireworks on New Year's Eve was the weirdest thing I'd ever heard of! But it's actually pretty cool~Desi).

Re: 12/29 E-tube dressing caution

I posted this info in Michelle & Mannie's condo & then figured I probably ought to put it in Tawny's condo too, since she has an e-tube, too (like Michelle's BJ), I'd been meaning to post about it in one of Tawny's condos anyway:

I got Tawny a couple of Kitty Kollars & I really love them but a word of caution, which actually doesn't just apply to the Kitty Kollar: b4 I got the Kollars I had to change Tawny's dressing around her neck twice a day. They vet said to use a little piece of gauze around the e-tube incision site, then wrap cotton gauze around her neck 3 times, then wrap one of those stick to itself wraps around that. This worked really good except that the little square piece of gauze that was supposed to stay around the e-tube incision kept slipping out. So I started cutting a hole in the center of it, like I had seen the holes cut in the little round gauze-cotton pieces that come with the Kitty Kollars that are there so that you can just slip it over the tube and then put the Kollar on. Then I got the Kitty Kollars and started using those. Don't get me wrong, they are an awesome product and I love them. But twice Tawny has ripped some of her stitches loose, once b4 the Kitty Kollars & once since. And this last time I realized that she was digging and digging and digging at her neck all the time whether she was wearing the hospital-type dressing or the Kollar and that even just the tiniest edge of that little piece of gauze would slip out and she would get a hold of it and pull and pull and pull. Bcuz it was a solid piece w/a hole in the middle it wouldn't just fall out, and with her digging at it she apparently got a hold of it and pulled and pulled and pulled and pulled her stitches loose. So now I cut it open from the center up to the edge of the gauzy thing so that if it works its way out from under the Kollar or the dressing and she gets a hold of it it will just slip out. I need to call that Kitty Kollar lady about this too I think. The Kollars are great and she was really nice on the phone and I bet she'd like to know about this. ~ Desi

I agree with Marje - especially now that we are doing this eTube thing with another one of my kitties...

Re: 12/29 Tawny PMPS 332 & E-tube Dressing/Kitty Kollar Caut

Hi Desi, We do have fireworks here on New Year's Eve. The village does them. We view them from across the lake. Quite spectacular, but if it's cold, it is really cold standing there for 1/2 hour to watch!

Glad you got the gauze/collar thing worked out!

See you later today.
