Today Purrdy's on 100% LC but it doesn't look like the change from the canned (WET) Hills CD over the past few days has resulted in any change to his numbers. I'm pretty surprised! I also note that he's had some good drops at +2 (while still eating the Hills) when, if I recall correctly, we expect that number to look about the same as at PS.

Does this mean that Purrdy's not sensitive to carbs and if so what will that mean when trying to feed low numbers? Not sure if that question can be answered or we just have to wait and see what he does. Mum does have honey at the ready too, in case that is needed.

I'm thinking that if we don't see a green tonight then it's a 0.25 dosecrease for Purrdy tomorrow. What do you think?

*Note - apart from stealing one piece of kibble yesterday at AMPS he hasn't been having dry food. It is the Hills wet that we've changed from. I edited the original post to make that clearer.

Edited to add - of course he made a liar out of me, almost as soon as I posted Mum got the +6 of 103 - his lowest number yet - so close to green!

Maybe we should stick with this dose for a couple more cycles?

I think you would be wise to stick with this dose for a few more cycles. Give it a chance to settle and for the new foods to acclimate to Purrdy's body.

p.s. Have you ever fed ZiwiPeak? It looks like it has good ingredients, but I'm concerned about the "green mussel" since Rusty is allergic to fish.

I think it depends on how your mom feels about blue vs green! If she's leery yet about lower green numbers, you can give him a few more cycles as he is trending down. If she wants to be a bit more aggressive, he's been at this dose long enough with no green that you could probably eek his dose up by 0.25u and see if he needs it for very long.

Thanks for the advice guys. Mum is getting excited at the thought of seeing some green but the less pyjama parties she has to have the better so on that basis I think we'll take the less aggressive route and let him go for a couple more cycles to see what he does (unless mum feels otherwise). I'll see if I can't convince her to get up for a night nadir test either tonight or tomorrow night though.

Funny you should mention Ziwi Peak Ella I've just been out to the one supplier that has it in W.A to stock up. Very hot here so that's wiped me out and I suspect I won't be doing too much this afternoon. See you in Rusty's condo in a minute...

Hi Serryn, I wonder if you are around tonight if you can check in on Merrill & Jack? They are only on the first week of Lantus and are now at about 24 hrs of green numbers. She's in New Zealand.
