Not bad for a trash raid. Mikey is one determined cat! Actually, I kind of admire that, as long as it's not my kitty. :lol:

+ 3.5 76 Still a good number and almost at his usual nadir. He did vomit his 3rd breakfast just before +3.5 (probably the after-effect of all that ice cream last night) but when I offered a tablespoon of BG turkey, he ate it fine (and would have eaten the barf if I'd let him) so I'm not worried at this point. I added 1/4 t of gravy to the BG just to be safe since he did vomit and his BG was still dropping. Frankly, I'm not all THAT sorry he has a tummyache from his garbage adventure.

+4 79 Mikey hasn't vomited again, but he is a little restless and seems a bit thirstier than usual after his little barfyfest. If he's not feeling better by later this afternoon, I'll call the vet, but considering that he upset the applecart by eating cookies and ice cream last night like the glutton he is, I'm not going to freak out and drag him in right now since it stresses him so much.

+5 134 He's had good numbers today! Should I be concerned that he's a little extra thirsty after his trashfest/vomiting episode? His breath smells fine (if stinky catfood breath can ever be considered "fine") and his appetite is normal. He's eaten again since he vomited and kept that down. He was greedy for his treat when I tested him. He did stretch out and take a nap in his usual spot after his +4 test. He just seems a little extra active and thirsty.

I don't think I'd worry about a little extra thirst if he's otherwise acting normally. That's if he were my cat. You know him best, tho, so I'm sure you'll make the right decision. Personally, I would keep an eye on him, and maybe if things are still off tomorrow, call the vet at that point. His numbers are looking fantastic, you're doing a great job!

i'd second what anne said. overeating can make any body vomit - it might take more than a day to recover from a cookie-ice cream fest!

always makes me wonder about those crazy people you read about or see on tv who eat 100 hot dogs at once. :shock: i figure they deserve whatever sick ooginess they get from that stupidness. :lol:

I think he'll be okay. I just worry about DKA/pancreatitis, though his numbers were really good this morning. He's trying to bust into the garbage can again at the moment, so apparently he hasn't learned anything. He is still a bit more active than usual for this time of day, but he's relaxing more...stretched out on the couch sulking now since I yelled at him for trying to climb into the garbage.

I guess since he's feeling better I no longer have an excuse to avoid going to the DMV this afternoon...

+11 186 Very nice numbers today! Mikey seems to be feeling better after his foray into the garbage. He spent the afternoon trying to get back into the garbage. I locked it up when I went out!

That picture is hilarious. I'd rather brave that than the real DMV any day!

+1 124 Yikes, Mikey goes diving! That's been going on a lot lately...geez, Mikey, I can't cut your dose any more! I might have to go back to a tiny but of gravy with Evening PS...he seems to dive more at night. Gave second dinner of 6% instead of the 2-3% he's been getting.

If he's going to have cycles like this the next day, I might make him start raiding the trash once a week... :lol: He didn't feel to great earlier today, but he seems to be back to his normal (incorrigible) self tonight.

I haven't had much time to work on the profile; but will hopefully get it done in the next day or two.
