Yay, thank you Charlene! It just feels a little better to know someone who has handled low numbers will be around in case she needs a hand the first time.

A sticky is a post that is "pinned" to the top of a list of messages in a forum. In all the forums on the FMDB lots of helpful information that we refer back to often are pinned to the to of the forum posts - they don't move down when another post is made. They are stickies

OK here goes - shooting low - will be testing hourly for a while.
NB for the first time Jack gave me a growly meoww when I shot him. I felt the fur for a miss but it was dry. May have hit a nerve or something?
Quite unlikely you got a nerve - he's possibly just a little over being prodded. Lantus can also have a little sting to it which might cause a little growl every now and then. Don't sweat it . Jack is eating and being a sassy pants . Cattitude if you will?

Serryn here in Oz. You have been doing a fantastic job and Jack is looking super fantastic I can hang around and keep an eye out for you too if Charlene wants a rest or you guys just want some extra company. See you back here in an hour.

then JACK ATE food (his normal meat)
Looks like the party has started - the decline has begun.
Hitting 50 or under is a reduction so don't be scared of it, 50 is okay it's not dangerous. It is pretty early in his cycle and we're probably going to want to make sure he eats later so best not to give him too much, just a couple of tsps is probably enough to keep him surfing.
You're going to want a +3 . How's his little ears going? I was just looking over the last few weeks of Vyktor's spread sheet - crazy ear poking times!!! Luckily for Jack he doesn't have very far to come down on the dosing scale

OK not as nervous.
Thanks for the tip about not over feeding and holding some in reserve.
Fair enough, the food should be holding him but always better to test if you feel nervous. The whole time Vyktor was on the juice I don't think there was a single night that I didn't set the alarm to test, nor was there a day I didn't dash home from work at lunchtime to test - better to be paranoid than sorry I say!

what next please?
OK I'll get some food. Umm I am pretty tired actually after doing this last night and up early today, but will keep at it no problem. I may have to set my phone alarm in case I nod off!
Perhaps napping in between tests may help? If you can that is . You're doing an amazing job Merrin, Jack is a lucky kitty! Hopefully soon to be an OTJ kitty .
Do you have any berocca? I found that fantastic for the pj parties. We've probably still got a few hours to go here. On the plus side it doesn't look like he's going to be on the juice for much longer at all so the zombieism will be well worth it
Good idea to set the phone alarm in case and if you can cat nap do so, just make sure your phone is near your ear you can sleep through it when you get really tired - says the voice of experience
Thank you, I was pretty wired last night, the worry kept me awake longer than I should have been, but I do feel calmer tonight, hence the fatigue kicking in. I do feel like I am getting the hang of it too thanks to you all
Jack just had a snack and now he is trying to get out the cat door which I locked. Mean mummy.
I doubt that I will sleep - my cat napping days are a thing of the past!
ha ha ha he's trying to escape! with those nice numbers he probably feels better than he has for ages and wants to go out and party.
Have a little nap if you like, or do the housework I always found it good to do that between tests to keep myself going - my house was never so clean, of course that all fell by the wayside once Vyktor went OTJ!

Jack had approx 1tsp food an hour ago. 4.2 (75.6) not bad!
ok, go to the US page and click in the cell for your PM +2 then hit delete to clear the formula that is there
then you want to enter 63 @ +2.5 68 - each element will be one under the other like this
63
@
+2.5
68
to fill in the colour you want to click on the arrow next to the thing that looks like a paint tin being poured and click on the green
you may have to make the column a little wider to fit it all in you can do that by hovering your mouse at the top of the spreadsheet between the +2 and the +3 columns when the double arrow symbol comes up you are in the right place and you simply click and hold it down while you drag the edge of the column over a little
that all sounds good in my head but let me know if you have any probs with any of it, if not then you can go ahead and fix yesterday as well
The #RE problem is something else, we can have a go at that after this bit
Edit to add - actually that #RE thing's not such a problem anyway because all your numbers are there and that was on the previous insulin
Tee hee I love how they can sleep through all the excitement, Vyktor even slept through his tests sometimes. He's sound asleep next to the computer now
The green you want is on the top line about in the middle - probably better not to have the columns quite so wide either, better they go tall, it's easier for people trying to look across the whole thing for patterns and then it just affects that one day instead of everyday for ever after - I edited my prior post to show how they should go you can also see examples in Vyktor's spread sheet if you like
I'm just going to update Purrdy's numbers again brb
Edit - I'm back - looks good except for the colour, you want the same green as the other cells around them - the second top most line about in the middle (from the options after you click on the arrow next to the paint tin thing). One to the left of the one you selected I think
and for the US numbers you don't need to include the decimal place - round it up if it's .5 or above and down if it's .4 or below, you'll probably be able to skinny up those columns a little after you've done that too
Good work, I'm amazed you're picking things up so quickly after the last couple of days you've had!
8:00pm SHOT 0.25 U + FOOD (NB I did give hime little bits of food through the day, forgot to take note)

11:00pm tested 3.7 mmol/L (66.6 mg/dL) (+3 after his 8:00pm insulin)
then approx 1tsp food
12:00pm tested 4.2 mmol/L (75.6 mg/dL) (+4 after his 8:00pm insulin) 1:00am tested 4.1 mmol/L (73.8 mg/dL) (+5 after his 8:00pm insulin)
Numbers looking fairly similar to today's numbers - what do you think?
Just catching up with you two, before I head off to work today. Looking real good
I think I would set an alarm for 2 hours, and get a nap. I also used to sleep on the couch with my cell phone alarm placed just so on the coffee table, but not too close that I would turn it off in my sleep. If I tried going to bed with it, I would fine the cell phone under my pillow where I must have buried it in my sleep.
Excellent off you go to bed then - you've done a fantastic job tonight Merrin enjoy your sleep.
Edit to add - If it was my kitty and I had the energy left I'd probably do as Dyana suggests to be extra safe. I think he will surf it but Dyana's made me paranoid now and she has been doing this longer than I have!
