I don't know where the days go. Just realizing my last post was on x-mas! The past few days Ebby has been in sort of a bad pattern of bouncing during the day and then clearing the bounce by the PM which gives her a very active PM cycle and then sets the stage for another bounce in the AM. I like that she is clearing the bounces quicker but don't like the quick ups and downs. Finally last night it changed a bit and her bounce lasted into the PM cycle which gave her a nice blue number and fairly flat cycle for today. Hopefully that means a not so dramatic bounce for tonight!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by in our last condo to check out the kitty tree pictures! I am so grateful to have been able to spend another Christmas with Ebby and am amazed that I was able to buy her a kitty tree and have her play with it like a kitten! We still have some bad days, but most days Ebby seems happy, playful, and looks pretty healthy. About 7 months ago when we started insulin again, Ebby really was not feeling well, and at one point looked up at me with eyes that were telling me she was giving up. I was not ready to give up, but expressed concern to my DH that Ebby "told" me she was giving up. DH quickly intervened and said, "No, she still wants to live." I stuck with it, made the switch to Lantus, and things have looked up since then. I want to express gratitude to this board and everyone who has offered advice and given hugs when I'm feeling down. Ebby is so very precious to me and I can't imagine a life without her. We still have some work to do before regulation is achieved, but for now her quality of life is good and facing this disease has made me appreciate every new day I get to spend with her. I must be getting sentimental with the year ending.

Well, Thanks again to everyone here in LL and the FDMB! We couldn't have done it without you! :YMHUG:

Aww, Melissa, It is just this time of year, makes a lot of us more emotional, especially about our sugarkitties. It is wonderful to hear how good your girl is doing :-D :-D And how she is enjoying life again. Quality of life is the key, and Ebby has it! Loved the kitty tree pics~

It's great that she enjoys her new toy and can play like a kitten!

I see you are having to give HC quite a lot. Do you know if she is dropping low otherwise. I wonder if she is considering another decrease? If she is dropping low it would explain the bounces...

Neat kitty tree! I'd love to have kitty condo's and maybe a "rail" up near the ceiling throughout the house for mine..I think it'd be so much fun for them! The cost keeps it a dream though.

Nice cycle for Ebby today! I know how you feel with the crazy bounces. China's been in the 300's for Pre-shot and then in mid-greens for nadir and the only thing we can come up with is the raw diet is TOO low in carbs (which makes absolutely no sense)

The holiday season is always a crazy one, with so many things to do, as well as memories that come up. It's great to hear that Ebby is feeling better too! She has such a good bean caring for her!

Hope you had a nice weekend and the upcoming New Year brings you nothing but good things

Jane, I think you're right about this time of year...very sentimental about our little kitties.

Wendy, I started feeding a higher LC food (9%) and HC to try and stop the steep dives. She seems to be doing better since I started the 1 unit and higher carb, so I might try and avoid any reductions for a little while. She didn't do well when I tried a reduction last time, and it really didn't stop her bouncing much, so up the dose went. Hopefully she's not going lower without me knowing. If so, she's doing a good job of hiding it from me.

Chris, I've seen pictures of those kitty rails...I'd love one too! Maybe in our dream home. I saw you were feeding the raw and having problems with the bouncing. I have made some homemade raw for Ebby, but it seems like she does better on a higher LC food too. Now I'm feeding 9% wellness pouches most of the time. I hope China stops her bouncing trend. Have a good weekend too!
