Georgia and Simon (GA)

Member Since 2010
Nice start to Simon's day except he doesn't want to eat his fuds this morning. I had to add a few pieces of dry kibble to the food to get him to eat. He used to gobble everything in sight but since his pancreatitis attack, he just hasn't been as interested in eating. Luckily, he has not lost any weight because I do not take "no" for an answer. I will keep giving him his dish and encouraging him until he finishes his meal.

We will be taking it easy today. Very rainy start to our day -- good day to stay at home or go to a movie.

Morning Georgia

WOW, love that amps Simon! You surf well today.

It was the same with Mannie, after he had his pancreatitis too. That changed everything for him as far as food was concerned. He used to eat anything and everything After that, his appy was never the same, I too would not take no for an answer. I can still laughingly remember all those opened cans along the counter, looking for what he would eat that day. ;) I am glad that Simon will listen to you, and eat what he needs to eat.

Enjoy your relaxing day there. :)

I'm sorry Simon's appy has been off. Have you tried some new flavors? I think Amy said Trixie had an aversion to the food she used to eat after her pancreatitis.

Simon...pink is SO not your color!

Carla is right...Trix developed a lot of aversions after her p-titis, so maybe another flavor would entice Simon. With Trix, the only things I can get her to eat now are Fancy Feast Chicken and Purina One Chicken...neither are great for her kidneys at all, but she's gotta eat! Even at that, I still have to hold the plate for her most of the time. She WANTS to eat, but she wants room service, too! Before the p-titis, she LOVED FortiFlora, Pill Pockets, and all sorts of treats....now she'll have nothing to do with any of those, although she IS starting to consider FortiFlora again. Her appy/eating habits just isn't what it was before the darned p-titis. It's been a challenge, but these kitties are a labor of love and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Have a great evening, Georgia!

Better this evening.
Amy, yes, Simon seems to not want to eat what he liked before the pancreatitis. I am changing things constantly and doing the opening multiple cans at a time routine. He seems to like Purina One and Fancy Feast some of the time. He also like Friskies turkey & giblets, but then again, once he has had it one time, he doesn't like it the next. His blood sugar is the best with Wellness, but he won't hardly touch it anymore. Simon eats more when I pet him while he is eating. Pancreatitis is a challenge, isn't it?!
