This morning was a shock, makes me worry if he was lower after we went to bed. He barely touched the food in his feeder but did finish was was in his bowl.

Wow! Quite an eventful morning! You might want to look at a reduction to 1.25U. When dosing for cats that toggle between doses, one either follows the 3 drops rule or takes a skinny increase/reduction. You don't want to combine the two. That would be too aggressive.

Would dropping to 1.30 be an option? He’s doing so well I’m worried about loosing momentum

I understand how you feel. But when you don't take an earned reduction, it could lead to an overfull depot and a cycle or two of him staying in low numbers and you not being able to get him up even with carbs and honey. You do not want that. 1.35U to 1.25U is a skinny reduction as it is.
