Zener is doing fine this morning. We think he is feeling better these past few days, more alert and playing more. He LOVES the locally made nanners that Sandy Claws brought him and Tillie for christmas. He likes toys that he can lay on the floor and attack since it's hard for him to pounce with his CH. Now he is demanding his 2nd breffis so this bean better get to it! Thinking of ailing kitties and beans, especially Rocket and Claudia, and those who are recovering. Happy Tuesday LL!

There is a bird feeder just outside the window and Zener is making that hunting sound, "mee-e-e-e-ow".

Hi Liz, Zener looks so cute in his cat condo! I love that chirping sound they mmake when seeing a bird, almost trying to be quiet so as not to disturb the bird! :-D Zener, nice coming down there at the +2 and how about a nice slow surf today.

Morning guys! You are off to a nice start Zener - love that +3. Keep on coming down, OK? Nice recovery from that unmentionable color at +6 yesterday. :-D

Love the photo too - what a beautiful kitty. I can so see Zener hunting the birds outside for his perch. too fun. And you have snow! AWESOME! :-D

@Ann & Maggie - we are hoping for a nice surf too. Our weather was 50 yesterday, so the kitties are loving it for bird watching!

@Deb & Spot - thanks for stopping in and giving Zener some numbers advice, he is listening!

@Devon - we are trying to focus on the WCR and not just the numbers, not always so easy!

@Michelle & Mannie - yes, snow. It's been on the ground for two weeks and was in the low 50s yesterday, so lots of bare spots. The kitties love that for doing their business outside! Zener is coming on down, now come along Mannie!

@Amy - Zener loves his aunties writing how cute and handsome he is! He does love his new nanners!

@Melissa & Mr T - I hope Zener got the text from Mr T about the slow and easy!

We are delighted the big guy is in blue this am, just in time for his recheck visit to the vet, which always spikes his numbers. We are continuing with the honey experiment to slow the big fast drops.

@Linda - we were not bird feeders or watchers until a few years ago when Liz was away on sabbatical. Our animal communicator told us the kitties were worried they would be bored while she was away. Liz is the supreme toy maker and kitty player! So, our AC suggested bird feeders near windows for "kitty tv". Then we got hooked with all the beautiful birds and now have many feeders. Fortunately, our kitties are more of the "catch and release" sort of hunters. ;-)

@Melissa & Bailey - vetty visit was good and we sure didn't expect his numbers to be so good post-visit! :shock:

@Celi - that's it!! That's the sound!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

@Christie - We love it when the kitties make that sound. We try not to laugh. :roll:

Our vetty visit went very well. :thumbup It was the first day the vet office was open after the holiday so it was very chaotic. Zener was very patient waiting for his turn. The vet tech, who got us settled in the room and took his vitals, is his special friend and has been our pet sitter before so Zener really likes her and that may explain why his numbers didn't go into the stratosphere! The vet was very pleased with his BG numbers, the 3oz of weight gain since his dental, the shine of his fur and the best part - his gums looked beautiful! All is healing well with his mouth, so we are to stop the 1x a day Bupe now and see if his good eating continues. His sutures are still in place, but should disappear in the next week.

Thanks to all for stopping in today with good wishes for Zener. Vet visits are stressful for us all! :-D

@Melissa and Mr T - isn't green gorgeous! Thanks to Tarragon for hanging in the GREEN lagoon with Zener. Z is there so seldom he sometimes gets lost, so it's nice to have a friend to hang out with! :mrgreen:

Look at that GREEN ZENER!!! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT Great vetty report & so glad his mouth is all healed!

That Noise they make when they see the birds outside is called caterwauling, which is the sound a cat makes when it sees it's prey!! also when they feel discord, or upset. I also have giant windows & a cat condo like that & we also have 5 bird feeders..I used to think she was "greeting" the birds :lol: :lol: :lol: More like :lol: wanting to be "eating" the birds :lol: :lol: :lol: !!
Now she loves to watch them & the cats & the other wildlife we have here--Kitty TV indeed!

@Roni - thanks for giving us the right term for Zener's chattering! We had a GA kitty named OJ who used to really catterwaul outside when he was an elderly gentleman. One day we heard a very young neighbor girl say "mommy, mommy - what's that sound?" :lol:

And we're shooting a blue number! :o We were delighted and surprised to see GREEN this afternoon after his morning vetty visit. Good news all around today!

What a wonderful and exciting day for Zener! Greens, a good vetty report, a nice PMPS, what could be better? Zener, I love the pic of you doing your birding. If we had a feeder close to the house, the squirrels would overrun the house (as it is, they are overrunning the garage)! Of course, Rusty would like that!

Other good news from the vet visit today was a weight gain! Zener had lost some more weight last week when we went back because his numbers were so high post-dental but there was no infection, just post-procedure pain and we had stopped the bupe too soon. So, today, his weight had gone back up 3 oz to 11lbs 13oz. We think 12 lbs is about right for him. And this is only the 2nd week of a weight gain since he was diagnosed in March.

@Ella - we are hoping the numbers don't keep going up this cycle, but a bounce often follows any greens for our big guy. We keep putting peanuts our for our squirrels to deter them from our house! :lol:

I'll get another test mid-cycle and see what sort of bedtime is in store tonight. :?
