Christmas Condo

Busy day of shopping and visiting yesterday = no condo. Yesterday's Recap:

AMPS 128
+1.5~100
+10~117
PMPS 91
+3.5~70

We're headed back to KC today, but we'll be leaving this afternoon as DS' Christmas present didn't arrive so we're hanging out to see if it comes in today's mail. Infinitely not helpful is the fact that the company didn't give me a complete tracking number and claims they can't help me find the package.   Luckily, mail comes around noon. Probably a good thing as it will let us get through the morning cycle and not have to worry about trying to feed low numbers on the road. Still need to pack up the car... Santa brought me a garage door opener, cookware and lots of big, heavy cookbooks so it should be a good workout!

Willie continues to be fantastic. He and Herbie have been enjoying their stay with lots of playing, although with a quiet house yesterday, they each got in a much needed extended nap!

Hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday and has a wonderful Tuesday!

Willie, you are looking good this AM! Do you have your board shorts on? Nice presents - especially the garage door opener. :-D The cooking stuff is nice but that means you have to shop, cook and clean up! Safe travels.

LOL Liz. I actually really like cooking! Got two nice stainless steel pans, cutting boards, a great cookie sheet set, some Misto oil sprayers and four of the big staple cookbooks (though, got 2 Joy of Cookings and realized I'd mistakenly put Better Homes & Gardens on my wishlist when I already have the breast cancer edition! ohmygod_smile ). I actually can't wait to get home and start whipping up stuff!

Sounds like you'll put everything to good use. I know I would do fine with the eating part.

We're back in KC, at least for a bit. Relations are, lets just say "strained" is an understatement, with my biological father and that side of the family. Nobody could be bothered to contact me to let me know that my grandmother passed away late last night (despite my parents' phone number not changing in the past, oh, 30 years), so I may be turning around and heading back this week. She was 95 and for the past 7 years, has had dementia so severe that she couldn't retain a thought for more than 5-10 seconds. We were extremely close right up until the dementia hit her hard... right before things got really bad, she became very vicious towards me. It was right when I was moving and studying for the bar exam and it got really bad. At first I stayed away because it was honestly just too much for me to deal with, and then I stayed away because I was afraid I would be going more to ease my own conscious and I was worried that my presence would somehow agitate her or cause her distress that she wouldn't be able to understand. I had seriously contemplated visiting her over the weekend several times, but ultimately decided not too for that reason.

Mostly, I'm thankful that her body finally decided it was time for her mind to have some peace. I'm a little shaken though, that, on the day she died, I was in the same tiny town just a few blocks away checking out my DSIL's new chiropractic office. *sigh*

Willie is a little high, but part of that is likely food bounce as I fed him and then realized I had no idea where the testing supplies were, so had to basically unpack the entire car, only to realize they were in the first bag I had brought in. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile He was a bit more agitated on this leg of the trip, so I'm not surprised to see blues.

Christie, we are so sorry about your grandmother and how difficult the whole family thing is. Wish we could do something to help. Thinking of you.
Liz, Anne, Zener & Tillie

I'm glad you are safely home and so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is hard to lose her, but you know she had really left some time ago. This was a release. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
