Here's yesterday's condo....
Today: AMPS 320 +3 269 +6 267 +10 281 PMPS 274 +5 259
Wow I am very late checking in today! OK so we got up a bit late this morning (only 20 mins!) ... but when I went to get his AMPS BG, found out the hard way that the battery had died in the meter... Drat! OK so I need to jump in the car and go buy a new one. But the car is covered in frozen snow... OK I get the snow cleared finally and go get the new battery... So then, back home, bad idea but we decided to give him his meds before poking him again; and then, what happens? the stupid syringe (yes that same one again!) for the gabapentin - it drew the liquid up OK but when trying to actually give him the dose, it totally jammed up. The rubber piston had gotten tilted somehow inside the barrel - and we had a real struggle and what should take just seconds, was going very wrong. He was getting very antsy, being held with his mouth open for waaaay too long, as you can imagine, while we realized what had gone wrong with the syringe! So we finally quit on it and instead, mixed the gabapentin with his breffis. So then I finally do a poke and get a BG and what do you know, of course we get 320, not surprising really with what had happened, poor boy...!!
Anyhow then it was back in the car again, to go get the stupid dud syringe replaced. I handed them the blank one and said "spot the problem!" - and they said "Oh no, not ANOTHER one !!!" so I guess we're not the first people to have encountered this issue with these crappy syringes! Anyhow they were OK about it, they apologized, did not quibble and gave me two replacement syringes of a different make - these ones do seem much better-made with properly etched markings. So that should be the end of that problem.
Anyhow - finally, all is back to calm and relative peace, in Sootyland and he seems to be OK - coming back down nicely... now (at +3), we're back to some more usual numbers.
So, how is your day going? LOL!
