Simon saw the green lagoon last night and is a beautiful 145 this morning. Right now, he is all snuggly in his bed. He woke me up very early to let me know he was ready for his breakfast so of course, I had to get up. Anything for the king.

Today will be busy. Saturday is the day I volunteer at the no-kill cat shelter. I always love hanging out with the kitties in "my room", feeding them, cleaning their room, and playing with them. The shelter staff have asked me if I want to be trained to administer the meds since I have so much practice at home, but I decided I would rather play with the kitties and be their friend. None of the cats enjoy seeing the med people coming into their rooms. I don't want to be the "mean person".

Have a great day everyone! I loved all the family gatherings but I am kind of ready to relax and not have to cook or eat so much!

Too bad you couldn't be both friend and med giver. I understand your decision. I hope you enjoy your day.

Bounce?

Hey, I work at a no-kill sanctuary. Yes, meds are tough. So far, though, I've learned the cats are either 1) lacking short time memory or 2) extraordinarily forgiving! Shortly after med time the furry beasts are all over me seeking attention.

Hi sweet Simon and Georgia!

Oh I'd stink at helping at a shelter, I'd want to take all of them home....wait, looking around I think I did... :) I agree with Marilyn, they forgive and forget quickly. I think it's truly in the approach - you can already calmly do meds but it's OK to just love too! Oh how heartwarming!

HUGS and HEADBUTTS!

Oh dear! Simon is really bouncing high tonight. It may be because we were unable to give him fluids last night due to all the holiday stuff with my family. I didn't think it would make that much difference, but it could be the reason.

Polly, you are probably right about the meds. The kitties at the shelter just want to be brushed all the time so I guess they may forgive me if I give them meds but brush them after it is over.
KT, it is hard not to want to take all the kitties home, especially the ones that have been there a long time. I have to remember that they are getting really good care and they have lots of room to run around and not stuck in a cage.
