Pumbaa's 12/26 thread is here.

Very difficult day since one of my mom's two cats was put to sleep this afternoon. This makes me appreciate the fact that, no matter how much I have f'd up Pumbaa's dosing, he's still alive and thriving! :)

Freydo, went to sleep in my arms today, with me stroking and telling him how much he was loved. I did that for him before we left for the vet, and after we got there, and after they gave him the sedative that knocked him for a loop (and made us think he had already gone), and after they gave him the final injection.

I'm still crying, because Freydo will be missed so much.

I will be a wreck when Beck's time comes. As well as Pumbaa's and Larry's. And heaven forbid about my mom's time.

I will never understand those people who can kill others and not respect life. I cry when anyone here posts that they lost a pet.

Here's my favorite photo of Freydo, because this so totally captured his personality:

I am so sorry for your loss, and your mom's. I know what you mean though, I was at the vet recently and someone came in that I didn't know, but her cat had just passed, and I cried with her in the waiting room.

So glad that you were there to comfort Freydo. Be at peace now little one, fly to the bridge to meet all the other kitties.

Hugs,
Kathie

Sorry for your loss... I cry every time I see a loss on this forum too... And hug my babies closer. I know what you mean about how we will be when we lose our own... Whether pets or human family..

Love the picture, helped cheer me up a bit.. It's been a tough week with all these losses...

So sorry for the loss of Freydo. Please comfort your mom, it must be difficult for her.
Life is uncertain, we dont have control over it, thus treasure what we have and all those around us.

So sorry to hear about Freydo. Fly free, sweet kitty! It is really hard for those left behind when our kitties must pass, but they are the lucky ones who were much loved and had good homes.
Thinking of you today, Suze, and your mom and Pumbaa and Freydo's other playmates.

Sending deep sympathy,

Ella & Rusty and Stu (GA)

(((hugs))) So sorry for your loss of Freydo. What a character he must have been, love the pic. It is hard and sad when someone loses a member of their 'family'. Hope you can comfort your mom and help her remember the special fun times to get through this.

Fly Free Sweet Freydo and land softly....

Jo

Morning, so sorry to hear about your Mom's cat, so sad. I feel the same as you, I cannot imagine my life without my cats or my parents for that matter. I cry too every time I hear someone lost their beloved pet. Guess we just need to hold our animals close and enjoy the time we do have with them. Sorry again. Hugs and prayers to you and your MOM!

Thank you, all. (((HUGS)))

Freydo was a character, and provided a lot of entertainment for the family over the years. Pumbaa met Freydo when Pumbaa was still a kitten, and I am pretty dang sure that Freydo is who taught Pumbaa how to be a mischief-making juvenile delinquent. The things those two boys would do/get into when I would bring Pumbaa to my mom's house for a visit!

Awww - what a wonderful way for Freydo to go. We should all be so lucky to cross being held in a loved one's arms, feeling loved and safe. I'm sorry he's gone. Fly free Freydo wings_cat

I'm so sorry about Freydo. It's so hard to let them go. He had a great life and was well loved, every kitty should be so lucky.

We all are shedding tears w/ you. it is so hard to see a loved furbaby go. We all realized how lucky we are to still have out own.

Freydo left in peace and will wake in peace at the Bridge.

Lighting a candle to guide him.

Thank you, everyone! (((HUGS)))

Tonight I am trying to visualize Freydo in heaven, saying, "Thank you for putting me out of my misery, and for loving me enough to listen to me and make this difficult decision for me. I was a very lucky boy to have all of those wonderful years with you."
