Finally some traction on this dose?

But still a long way until PMPS.

I know better, but I'm half temped to take a tidge.

Just to get on to something better.

Chip's 12/25

Re: 12/27 Chip AMPS 53 +4 47 +5 61

I'm temped since I could always go back.

I'm mulling a theory that the problem (all the blue bouncing) was not the 2.5U dose, but more the overlap characteristics of 2.5U Levemir with Chip. After 6 previous apparent failures of the dose both up and down.

Like it leaves a gaping hole in the depot which causes the bobbing.

And I suspect the first time down the ladder he might have held 2.0U had I not tried 1.75U then. He legitimately went below 50 after 5 days of 2.0U, on 10/05/12.

ah, there it is.

I've been watching Chip's spreadsheet for a couple of days and noticing several inverted curves (low on the ends, high in the middle). Inverted curves are fun, sometimes they mean too much insulin, sometimes they mean too little insulin, and most of the time they really don't mean anything at all. Since it's not a normal pattern for Chip, and since he has been spending so much of his time in the healing range, and since he has had a series of inverted curves in the past couple of days, I wondered if maybe it meant a reduction was coming. So yeah, chances are he is ready for that reduction and will hold it this time. It's worth a try, as you say, you can always go back up.

For lurkers, please don't think that just because your cat goes up instead of down in a cycle, that it means they are getting too much insulin! This type of curve is just one piece of a puzzle, put together with other pieces to make our best guess. Chip is in a phase in which he has been in healing numbers almost 24/7 for quite a while, so sometimes inverted curves are ONE of the signals that might mean a reduction is coming. The 47 is another, and it doesn't hurt to see that Chip has been on this dose and doing well for 7 days.

The *tidge* is on!

It's 0.13mm or 1/3 of a quarter unit reduction. sk2.5U

The blue bobble looks to be stable, he had no HC, slighly less than the normal LC.

The inverted curve (or whatever today's incarnation is) doesn't seem to be bouncing off lows or drops. I left him lower to ride this one out but it didn't seem to matter. It's really not a bad thing since it's so predictable that I can sleep. As long as it doesn't go yellow or worse. @-)

I do expect a 24 hr yellow bounce starting approx. tomorrow overnight. Longer or pinker than that likely means return to the last good dose.
