Tommy's blood work came back great, my normal vet thinks Charlie caught something while being boarded and passed it on to Tommy and Lola.

So glad to hear the bw is great! And it could be very possible that Charlie did catch something. Anyway, glad all babies are doing better.

I guess Charlie's joined the champion high dive team on tonights cycle.
169 pt drop pmps to +2, the bounce had cleared.
Added .25mc to his meal, going to do a +2.5 to see how much more he drops.

Hi Darin,

I've had company and not checked in on you guys for a few days. Can you catch me up on what's happened with charlie? I see the emergency room vet and the mirtz prescription on the ss comments, but what was the cause of his not wanting to eat? Does he have teeth/gum/mouth issues or ?

As soon as I get him over 50 I will

Jeesh Charlie!! I know you were a star pupil at China's school of cliff diving, but she already gave you a gold medal and an A+ !!! No need to show off!!

Glad you caught it Darin....that's quite a drop!

Julie...I think that the vet thinks that while he was in boarding, he picked up a bug and brought it home to share. Charlie wasn't the only one who was off his feed. He went to the ER when he was dropping and he was afraid he couldn't get him to eat, but he ended up leveling out and he was able to bring him home the same night (If I'm remembering everything right)

Congrats on the reduction!

Time to come up now Charlie!!

no hurry, darin. take care of Charlie first.
I brought Charlie home from boarding on 18th Thursday, I noticed starting Friday night that his diabetic hunger was fading, normally when I let him out of the testing room, its a mad dash to the counter that I feed him at. That night it was at about half speed, same with his eating.

At his pmps on Saturday he was 80, I was at work and my gf gave the dose, I had her add .5mc to his meal, she texted me that he did not eat all the food, she had to leave for work at +.75 so I had her put him in the bathroom with what he left on the plate plus .25 more.

I normally would not have arrived home from work till +2-+2.5, about at +1.25 I started having this awful feeling in my stomach and new I had to get home, my boss OKed me to leave work at +1.5, it was almost +2 when I got home, u tested him he was at 56, tried to feed him would not eat, tried Karo on the gums, sugar would not rise, so before it became a crisis I found a 24/hr vet about 8min from me and called them to inform them of the situation and what I was doing, in the mean time tested him he was 48 or something, then he bumped up to 57, then dropped to 44, so off to the vet.

He was there for an hour and held an 80/animal meter, so we headed home(while he was with the vet I ran across to the grocery store across from the vet and bought some gravy lovers, I had him liking the gravy off my fingers as we drove home, once home he tested at 49, I let him like as much gravy out of the cab as he could, his numbers started to rise out of the danger zone.

So ate this point I am very concerned about him not wanting food, so I made an appointment at the vet where he was boarded at for Sunday afternoon, Sunday morning still was not eating right only 1/3 if that of normal intake.

At his apt they did bw and I had a pretty heat discussion with the Dr, she was concerned about mine and Charlie's quality of life do to how often I test and me using a human meter, twice I told her I did not want to talk about it anymore.
His bw came back excellent, all number straight down the middle, they gave him mirtz.

I get home and Tommy is not eating and neither is Lola. By Monday the mirtz is working for charlie, Lola and Tommy only eating about 1/3 daily intake, wed I bring tommy to same vet, different Dr., she gives tommy mirtz, it only worked for a day. That Dr thought maybe it was an environmental issue with the cats.
Yesterday brought Tommy to my main vet, I told her the whole story, she thinks Charlie got something from being boarded and gave to Tommy and Lola.
My main vet gave Tommy a shot of cerenia, fluids, and did bw.
My vet called today and his bw is also excellent.

Today is the first day that tommy and Lola both 3/1oz meals am, and 2 out of 3/1oz pm meals

So I have know idea what the issue was but charlie has eaten great since the mirtz and I did not have to redose him. And now Tommy and Lola seem to be both back on track.

Tommy and Lola have both had super runny stools, yesterday morning I could see Lola's stool starting to take some form. Today Tommy's stool also has some form starting to take place.

Sorry so long

Had it all right except I only boarded Charlie, my gf work schedule would not allow her be able to dose bid

it's not too long - all of it is important. thanks for the update. I think if i were you, i'd copy the URL of this condo with the explanation and put it in the ss. That's what I did when I had important Punkin condos - then you can go back to them or others can see the full explanation, too.

I was wondering why he'd dropped off in dose so suddenly. Since all 3 of them were sick, i think your idea is reasonable that they picked up something at the vet's. Hope everyone's feeling back to normal soon.

In contrast to the vet, I think you do a fantastic job with Charlie. Kudos to you. :)

Julie, that is a great idea, I just pasted the link.

Thanks Julie, since he dropped to 34, is that a .5 reduction, or still only a .25 reduction?
